If you have a 255 stagger the rears can go to 275 with no issues.

Or you could go 245/40. That's what I plan to do come change time. I think 245/40 comes a bit closer to the original spec for sidewall:

225/45=101.25
235/45=105.75
245/40= 98.00

Your call.

Its OK on a stock 18/19" wheel for the rear if the car has a stagger as OEM.

235 45 18 and 265 40 18 is the best stagerred setup, beefier sidewall, but not as bad as 245 45, increases overall diameter too much.If I had a rwd I wud run that setup. I have an xdrive so i run 255 40 18 square.

Hey Bear,

Do you have a picture of the 275 rear on OEM rear?

I know they will fit, just curious how the sidewall looks on a 8.5 wide wheel.

How wide is the rim? 8.5? You can't fit a 255/40 on the OEM 18x8, can you?

You need at least a 9" rim, that's why I said if you have a stagger. The stagger OEM wheel set has different width rims front & back. The BMW 313 style wheel with 275X30X19" Conti DW Extreme Performance Summer Tire was very common on 335is cars running JB4's & going to the drag strip.

One of the guys was running in the high 11's on these tires. with just the tune + back end flash with an E85/93 fuel mix. My best was 12.1 tune only + back end flashon a 93/100 octane mix.

Have a close up on my desktop computer will see if its still alive.

According to Tirerack, minimum width for 245 is 8.0", for 255 the minimum is 8.5".

We/I do have staggered wheels.. unfortunately i do not believe they are 9" wide. M sport 19s are 19x8 and 19x8.5

I went with a 245/40R18 when I ditched my stock run flat Pirelli P7 run-flats. Less of a stretched look, I like the change personally.
