Chances of seeing your old car?

Last time I saw one of my old cars on the road was 1975 (yes really!). Any way I was on holiday in the Isle of Wight last week 120 miles from home, looked out of my hotel window and saw a 3 series, couldn't see the number plate but thought it was quite unusual, X-rallic blue with v spoke alloys, so had to go down and have a look, sure enough it was the 320i Luxury that I sold 3 years ago. Spoke to the owners when they returned and they were as surprised as I was, they were also on holiday. Any one else had similar?

Not in person but I remember seeing my old TVR chimera on pistonheads being sold a few years after I sold it. The owner had completely neglected it, let the leather fade on the seats and looked verytatty. I was most upset as it was one of the last ones they made and had different lights etc so was actually quite rare. It was certainly pampered when I had it.

We sold an old Shogun to someone who lived about 50 miles away. 18 months later we went to a local restaurant and when we came out our old Shogun had parked next to its replacement.

I saw my first E92 being driven down the high street. When I part exchanged it, I had no idea it would go to trade... never part exchanged a car before and the dealership said they keep the good ones and sell them... anyhow it was always nice seeing it driving... space grey... LA 179 wheels... pre LCI... haven't seen it too many times but it is local. Being driven by an elderly gentleman.

I spotted my dads old 1993 e36 on the M62 about 120miles from home, we were the first owners and sold it on after 3-4 years. It was looking tired and as he put his foot down the puffed blue smoke so I’m guessing it was consuming a fair bit of oil. That would have been in about 2006-7.
Also spotted the predecessor to that car much closer to home that was a 1988 e30 and was spotted within 20miles of home.

About 10 years after he sold it, I used to see my Dad's Singer Gazelle parked near farringdon station, used to walk past it every day. Quite spooky really.

I remember when I was a kid, we saw one of my dads old cars (Sierra Sapphire, Red with an unpainted replacement wing.) It was only a few days after my dad had part ex'd it aswell.

I have never seen any of my old cars though.

I sold an old car to a work colleague at the time. Used to see it twice a day, getting to work and going home.

I definitely hope I don't see a couple of my old cars, at least one is likely part of the A1 upgrade North of Newcastle and the other part of some flyover.

Sold my 16v Gti to my brother - I kept it immaculate to 36,000, he drove it like he’d stolen it for 75,000, I drove it towards the end - totally knackered ! Traded my R32 to a garage 50 miles from home, one of the neighbours bought it, must be late 70’s

My wife’s Silver Honda CRX was a cracking little car. Part ex it for a Prelude with
4 wheel steering.
I used to see it near where I worked.
It must be well over 25 years ago.

I sold my VW Polo to a colleague about 10yrs ago.
It was for his wife to use.
It's in a sorry state now, never cleaned and covered in body damage.
