Longest distant trip in the F30?
Thinking of doing a 1500k trip one way, have 24k on the clock, 2015. Who's taken the longest trip on here? Fear of being stranded.

Just towed a T@B trailer from N. Texas with the 328d wagon through a loop around the Rockies in August (NM - UT - ID - WY - CO) for 3000 miles hitting plenty of out of the way spots. Already had transfer case done, but the fuel pump or anything else could have stranded me, but that's like all vehicles nowadays. Have good cell reception for a tow, and just in case an ebike or something in the trunk. Or at least emergency water, supplies, and good walking shoes.
And have fun.

900 miles - and trouble free trip.
Prior to departure, it's recommended to check coolant level, change oil (if the interval will expire during the trip, and check for leaks. Enjoy the trip! |

From Frederick, MD to South Beach Miami.
Total of 2,200 miles. M-Sport seats in my 340i are not comfortable. So i had to buy a pillow mid-way during the trip. Other than that, everything was smooth as butter. |

Like others said, just do a basic check of oil level, coolant level, power steering fluid, and tire pressure before you leave. I usually bring some coolant and a quart of oil with me on really long trips just in case I need to top off. You should be fine.

Trip Preparation: Make sure your maintenance is all up to date and your fluids topped up. Cold tire pressures maybe a pound or two more than door jam specification for mostly highway driving. New wiper blades if needed. I carry a bottle of 2 in 1 RainX glass cleaner and water repellent, along with a roll of paper towels. Clean windshield when you stop for gas. Helps reduce eye strain especially driving at night. If you get caught in rain, RainX makes water bead up and run off. Developed originally for racing. Half of the time I don't bother turning on the wipers. Enjoy your trip! Hope this helps! |

I've done 6000 miles in 10 days in my E46. NYC-LA then LA-LAS-DEN-NYC
In my F30 I've done 200-300 miles trips a few times. I keep procrastinating and need to set up AAA since I have non RFT's

If everything is ok, don't fear. I bought E90 328 in DC, drove it to CO with 86k in 2 days.
Did 5,800 miles in my X5 35d once. It was exceptional road trip car. Had to trade in for POS Sienna bcs. space. |
