Blimey, makes my recent excursion across in the Land of the Free and Fat look like an early evening Terry Wogan chat show with Nana Mouskouri, Tony Hart and Bagpuss as guests...

In sum.

Bloke tries to sell something on legit thread in classifieds. One bloke laments missing the sale, three more blokes express interest and item is then sold to a keen buyer. Mr M Performance then trolls along onto the Classified thread and rather helpfully says:

Shortly after I get called, in chronological order, a twat, a cock, a cunt and a bullshitter. Stylish. Clearly the response of an intellectual heavyweight.

Now then. If you read my posts jolly carefully you'll see that at no point did I criticise his car I merely described it but what I did do is tweak his emotional levers. It's not difficult to see that he's jolly proud of his car and is turning it into a living, breathing testament to the M Power brand which is somewhat at odds with the engine under his bonnet but the mere mention of this sent him into an entirely predictable toy-throwing frenzy as evidenced by this thread.

Fundamentally, and despite Liam's assertion, my car is no better or worse than anyone else's but what it is, is fit for my purpose. I have bought it for the way that I want to use and also because my wallet allows me to. I couldn't give a flying monkey what anyone else drives, V12 or a 1.4 litre diesel, it's of zero interest or consequence to me.

The key differences between Liam and me are:
  • I don't care what he drives although he clearly cares about what I drive.
  • I don't criticise his buying choices.
  • I can grow a beard and have some testicular fortitude.

I've seen a couple of cases of this what you're saying CazuaLLUK but thankfully most people don't care what engine we have.

I'm happy with my 2lr F30 for now, I come on here to learn lots of information on my car, the majority of members on here are really sound and willing to help their fellow man.

Thankfully not everyone is all about willy waving

Jesus Christ if you have this much time to write this on a Sunday you need to re-evaluate some shit.

Make like frozen and let it go, or have a fight, I'd watch it would be hilarious.

Blimey. A key case.

I have a 2 litre and I actively sought out a non-sport suspension. It has wood trim in luxury spec. I hate the idea of lowered suspension, huge wheels etc

God knows what people might think of my car choice

But it's mine and I love it.

Who cares what others think.

I was think the same with my 'discussions' across on multiple off topics on the main thread, mainly with Trumpeteers.

Apart from that I thought it was only the 320i boys that were delicate about their cars.

Let's face it 3 (and 4) series are as common as fuck, the previous versions are now the home of Chavs (is around here).

However, back to the handbags at dawn

I say each to their own.

I think it all depends at what stage you are in life also. I've had some real shit cars early on in life when I was skint however my last three BMW have been 116i, 320d and now 330d.

Buy what's best for you and live and let live. I also think this forum is renowned for a bit of lively banter...which is never a bad thing in my opinion, as long as it dosen't get out of hand.

Be careful out there...

I only joke with you mate but to be fair you only insulted something that you have and don't like but he got very personal very quick.

Which was completely unnecessary on somebody else's Classified Ad thread. You got called out on it, got poked in the internet ribs, didn't like it and threw your toys out of your pram.

God knows why you felt the need to start a separate drippy thread about it though, that one's beyond me.

AHA the old chestnut

Christ, if I'd had a quid for every time you knocked the 320i I'd have nearly enough for the key case.

You expressed your opinion on a thread where other members clearly felt differently. Your post didn't add anything constructive, and came over as a dick head comment. The comment was probably not too well considered, and I don't think was intended to provoke a response.

However, in the way of the interwebs, you got called on it, you bit, over-reacted, and got defensive about a perceived slight on your car. You continue to do so....
