Yup my dealer confirmed that we can order the X Drive now with 2012 models. It will be an extra $2,600.

Ok so I had a lengthy discussion with my dealer and he offered me two quotes.

What I didn't know was that the 335i is only available on a 39 month lease as the 48 month option is not available on the 335i.

The 328i with premium and executive package came out to roughly $650 per month (taxes in) with $5,000 due on delivery. 24,000 kms annually.

The 335i with premium package came out to roughly $650 per month (taxes in) on a 39 month lease with $10,000 due on delivery. 20,000 kms annually.

Notice the payments are EXACTLY the same except for the due on delivery cost and the annual km allowance. Obviously this makes the whole situation extremely exciting for me.

Honestly I was thinking of spending maximum $7500 but I'd rather spend a little more and get the 335i.

There's no difference in the builds. The only "real" issue or point to think about would be gas mileage. I've heard the 335i is not as good as the 328i. On my current 335i, I'm doing 14 mpg which is not good. So if this stays the same, then I'll be spending more in the long run on the 335i.

But if the gas mileage is better, I'm hoping around 25-30 mpg, then clearly the 335i is the winner.

With the 335i I'll be getting the Sport Line and the 328i, I'm not sure. It could be either Luxury or Sport, I'll have to reconfirm.

Now all I have to do is to get a new insurance company to come on board. Currently I'm paying $330 per month and I'm hoping to pay much less. My Dad suggested that I get the new car under my name but have him as a cosigner. This way we can get his insurance rate on my car.

Any suggestions for a good insurance company? I'm currently dealing with State Farm and they're just weird. I'm thinking of checking with TD.

All in all I'm quite excited. I think I might just go for the 335i. I only need to collect a little more money before I can do so. Maybe I'll have to wait for the MY2013 but I was hoping to get the car this summer.

The weather is awesome and it sucks to get the new car when it starts to snow!

Johnsons Insurance... They were the cheapest, even cheaper than TD with my CMA discount which is a lot..

I was paying $270 with TD for just myself on the CMA discount which I believe was $30-50 per month.. With these guys I paid $220 for both me and my wife who has a G2...

On the 328i I'll be paying $250 all in Platinum package..

Quick question: if I plan on getting the H&R Sport Springs for my F30, is there any point on getting the sport suspension?

The sport suspension is $400 and the H&R Sport Spring is $500 (including installation).

I think I'll not get the sport suspension and put on the H&R Sport Springs instead. Any suggestions?

I have a 335i test drive scheduled for Monday.

Very funny I got the same exact payment structure for both the 335i and the 328i. The only difference is I'd need an extra $5000 due on delivery for the 335i meaning a total of $10,000 once I pickup the car.

I was comfortable paying $5000 and then I increased it to $7500 but now I'm gonna have to get $10,000.

I need to save a bit more.

Another difference is that the 328i will give me 24,000 kms annually on a 4 year lease whereas the 335i will give me 20,000 kms annually on a 39 month lease.

The test drive is just a formality as I currently drive a 335i and obviously I know I would prefer it.

Yes I want Alpine White as it is such a clean and beautiful color. Plus I'm going to do a lot of mods, so it'll look awesome on the white car. Specially once you get a black roof top and a black diffuser along with a black spoiler!

If I spend the money and get the. 335i, it'll be some time before I can start these mods. The only thing I'll do immediately is tint, grills and H&R Sport Springs. I'll try and get in a black vinyl roof if possible. Plus I need to spend another couple of grands on winter tires! I might hold up on the roof top and get the H&R Springs as that is quite important for me...

Remember I will buy out my car after the lease so the kms don't really matter to me. In fact, I'm thinking of going even lower to 18,000 or even 12,000. But I'm jut afraid if for some reason I need to return the car, I don't want to dig my self a hole and get stranded in there.

Nothing. I haven't spent the last 3 months saying I'm going to buy something and I'm not going to say I'm buying anything until I buy something.

But next week I'm going to build a $5 million mansion, buy a penthouse in Monaco, pick up a couple Lambo's, a Rolls and a few classic Harley Davidsons, then I'm gonna shoot 65 at Pebble Beach and knock out Floyd Mayweather.

I just have a few questions...

If i got the car near invoice price then how do these dealerships make money? I mean the "invoice" prices probably don't show exact figures on how much deals hips actually pay for there cars. But I don't know...

Another question is for fellow Canadians... Have you guys felt or had any issues with the wheel vibrations? I'm am really scared about this because I don't want to pay so much for a car that will give me a heart attack since it seems no one has gotten that fixed by BMW yet..

The last question is would tints cause my CA to malfunction?

No issues here with wheel vibrations, squeaks, wipers, or anything else really.

There are some known small things though, that don't fall under issues, e.g. the headrests not going all the way down (someone posted a fix for this).

From my understanding, Canadian dealers only have a markup of 8% or 9% so if you get say 5% to 6% off MSRP the dealer doesn't make much money.

A new BMW has free scheduled maintenance for 4 years so every time your car is serviced your dealer bills BMW for the free service. Of course service on cars older than 4 years old not covered by the free maintenance are also a big revenue generator for the dealer....add in bigger profit margins on used cars and that is where dealers make most of their profit.

So they make money via Financing / Lease interest charges which can be a lot over the tenure of the loan. They also make money on servicing beyond the 4yrs free maintenance and on trade ins they get + additional wear and tear options. The BMW Mississauga guys really pushed me on these..

The vibration issues were dealt with from the Mar'12 prod. onwards if i'm not wrong. If the car was made prior to that I'd be worried if that would affect us...

I think the metallic tints would affect your CA... You're better off going for ceramic. BMW charges $599 for them...

I almost bought The mineral grey sport on autotrader (demo), in the end I went for a brand new luxury. Just liked the feel of the inside more (wasn't a fan of the aluminum red line). if anyone is interested in this car PM me and I will tell you what they desperately offered me in the end.

I got $3328 in discounts, payments are $704 with $4400 down, 24k,
Premium package, tint and excess wear.

The general feel here seems to be that the exces wear is a waste? My understanding was when I get dinged (inevitable) I can just take it in anytime and they will fix it up. I know I can wait until the end and likely not pay but I want a pristine car for the duration of my lease. Am I right on this?
