New Car Discounts w/European Delivery (Canada)
Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone in Canada has ordered a BMW with European Delivery and received discounts from MSRP? My dealership (BMW Toronto) is telling me that there are no discounts on custom orders with ED. Not saying they are wrong, but I'd like some validation. BMW Canada and USA treat ED differently as far as I can tell, so Canada specific feedback would be appreciated. Vehicle is a 2016 BMW 435i Xdrive. It's actually already ordered and I already did the ED, but hindsight is 20/20 right? Thanks! Andrew |

I was told by local BMW shop that Canada and US BMW offices treat ED differently, and correct, no discounts on the Cdn side.

I did ED on my 1M and I got a bunch of accessories thrown in, but no discount on the car itself.
Just got back from Porsche ED, your plates expired 2 days after mine! No discount there either. BMW offers a better ED program than Porsche. With Porsche you have to pay cash for the car PLUS a 19% VAT deposit that gets returned at some point. If you want to lease / finance, that is fine, they will buy the car back from you as long as it returns to Canada damage free. With Porsche, you also have to drop the car off where you picked it up or pay 350 + euros for alternative drop off points. I dropped my car off at the Munich airport, far more convenient. Did you go to the BMW museum? The Koons art car made my day! Love the blue! B. |
