I just installed mine today with no issues.
Netflix is not available in the app store but you can download it directly through netflix if you enable install from unknown sources in the settings on the head unit. Enable install from unknown sources for Google Chrome by following this: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/where...-on-android-o/ and download the netflix app from: https://help.netflix.com/en/node/57688 |

2 Quick Questions I may have not seen 1. are you running an iPhone cell phone with this unit?... Do you have to connect it to the glovebox to run the carplay app? 2. Did you get the rearview camera that they offer? Or is it connected to yourBMW OEM rear view?

Dongle connects directly to one of the provided USB ports which in turn connects directly to head unit. I use my arm rest USB strictly for my iTouch .. 2. - I have the OEM camera, no need for theirs as the factory camera is P-N-P EDIT: F30_SixSpeed , to be honest...I won't be using CarPlay much as WAZE does everything I need it to do via the head unit. The head unit pairs directly to my phone's network after approx 15sec. Within Settings>Networks, you can save as many available networks as you want (I have two phones and my home wifi saved) .

At every boot of my device, probably after 1-2 minutes in, a Chinese ( ?) voice brabbles something through my speakers and everytime it scares the hell out of me...How do I turn this setting off ?

Does this mean that all the problems the 7.1 Hu had are gone?
No Google Maps freezing after time? No auto-task-killer feature on the device? Can someone please report if this unit also doesn't crash when using a couple of other applications running in the background? THX folks! Ross |

It boots up with the incorrect time for about 5-10 seconds and then corrects itself. I've also noticed a bug where it will flop between 24 hour time and normal time (haven't been able to figure that one out yet...).

UPDATE 12/19/18: Podcast via CarPlay
Over the last few days I had been trying new features via CarPlay to determine other issues. First thing to test was the "Podcasts" app. It opens with no issues, however, once "Play" is attempted...it immediately stops.
I notified 4x4shop.ca of the issue, they responded within 24hrs suggesting I remove the head units BT network from my phone as it's a known issue their "engineer" is working on. This seemed to have corrected the issue. Since I'll be traveling with the car Christmas week, I'll have more time to thoroughly test. .
