Hi all,

I have a little question. I've been around a here since November looking around, and finally done my first coding to retrofit Rain/Light Sensor yesterday.

However, my question is the acronyms.

What is:

FA
And what's the difference between VO coding and FDL coding? And what does each stand for?

I've acquainted myself with module names, and I believe I have a good understanding of how things work.

From what I understand if I VO code let's say Rain Sensor, it will automatically apply the required changes to all ECUs without me looking around for which modules and which sections need to be modified, is that correct?

Appreciate your input

FA = Fahrzeugauftrag = Vehicle Order (VO)

For VO Coding you select the ECU itself, not the CAFD File.

VO Code = Coding of all FDL's (100% of the ECU) to predetermined settings based on the Vehicle Order.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

FDL = Function Data Line

FDL Code = Coding of individual FDL's in an ECU, overriding the VO Coding.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on the ECU CAFD and select Read Coding Data => Expand the CAFD Folder by clicking + symbol => Right-Click on the CAFD file and select Edit => Edit CAFD as desired => Click the Blue Floppy Disc Icon to Save CAFD => Click the green back arrow icon => Right-Click on the CAFD file => Select FDL CODE.

Hi all,
Has anyone attempted to enable Park Assist through coding? I have the reverse camera, front and rear sensors on the pro nav screen but wasn't given an option to specify Park Assist (pre-built) as part of the advanced parking package.

Wondering is this feature can just be activated or whehter additional hardware is needed for it to work?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I have a 2015 mini cooper F56. My car was just at the dealership so I'm sure they put in the latest software.

I would like to try doing some coding. I have the appropriate cable. Where can I get the correct software for my car? Also any instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shawnsheridan, I am trying to retrofit LCI tail lights on my f31. I saw you mentioned VO code Ho-wort HELC for an f80 when that LCI led tail light is done in another post. Is that the same for f30/f31 as well? And then VO code REM.
Also what is HELC?

Yes, shoudl be the same. HELC is the After-market Fitment (HO-Wort) Code to add to FA and then Code REM.
