OLED tail lights installed *price drop*

I finally got the new tail lights installed - some first thoughts...

Right now, I couldn't be happier with this upgrade. Although I can't yet comment in the durability, they feel and look well made. Slightly heavier than the originals. Fitment is spot on (installed by Automodz as I didn't want to take on the trim challenge).
Coming from pre-lci, it really changes the rear. As you can see, the standard lights are more orange - I would say the red oleds are like the LCI blacklines. Deep red but not to the point of looking tinted. And they stand out even when off

Up close, each "leaf" looks well made. Light is even and at least same output level as the standards (some people say they are dimmer - I don't see that).

Startup sequence is pretty cool, but I don't really mind it.

Time will tell if I made the right decision, but having ordered from Amazon, I'm hoping they got my back in case they fail. The F30 version has been out for a few years now, and I haven't heard any bad feedback.
Think I'm done with the exterior now. Steering wheel next

They look really with the smoked red option. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade. Especially when upgrading from pre lci.

Glad to hear the fitting with auto modz was also a smooth process.

Those look really good, definitely a nice upgrade. Where are Automodz based? How much did they charge for fitting if you don't mind sharing? Did they need any coding?

They are based in Plaistow:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Au...52!4d0.0323803

Charged me £119 which seems fair for 2 hours work. No coding required, but removing the trim in a grand coupe takes time

I get the idea of not looking too aftermarket, but at least it's a pretty accurate copy of a bmw product. If you think it looks better than the standard lights, go for it and enjoy

They look fantastic and that's a good price for fitting.

I'm surprised no coding was required though. I thought when switching from halogen lamps to led they flicker unless coded. Obviously not!

I think the rears already have an LED element (thin lines on pre-LCI maybe?) therefore already adapted to take the correct amount to prevent flicker.

Just noticed that the oled lights on Amazon have dropped £150 - very decent price at £549 considering you get 2 years warranty and amazon's customer service!

They've been around for some time as genuine BMW parts:

Not quite the same, but the smoked look.

Those are just the blackline versions of the lci lights, completely different to the oled ones…

How is the indicator on these lights?
I heard from FB that they aren't as bright as they should/could be with these GTS lights compared to stock.

I've heard those comments too, but not been able to do a direct comparison. I honestly don't think they look noticeably duller, and wouldn't let that hold you back from buying them.
