Silicone is not a good idea. Makes the problem worse. Use gummi phelge.
Not sure of the correct spelling.

According to my SA the shadow line trim is most common with squeaking noise problem, took mine back for three times and could not get rid the problem. Dealer replaced the tapes twice and problem keep coming back.

Doesn't make sense; what tape were they using? This isn't exactly a difficult or tricky fix. One of these lubricating tapes should make the squeaking stop immediately/permanently.

What does this sound like? Doesn't sound like radio static, does it?

It sounds like a rubbing/creaking sound to me. Think of rubbing Styrofoam against something...then tone it down quite a bit. It's like that.

And I tried silicone grease and like JBrock...it didn't help me. It was worth a try though. Let me see if I can find this gummi phelge stuff.

Edited to add..
Here it is. I'll try it.

I believed it's Teflon tape but I couldn't tell by the brand.

Lets us know how that works.

Personally, I'd just order the tape and be done with it.

I bought the $30 3M knockoff version from Amazon as another poster did. Definitely solves the problem. Unfortunately, it doesn't look that good IMO. I'm a little annoyed that I have to put tape on my trim to solve this.

Agreed, but it's only visible when staring at the trim with the door open. I.e. NO ONE sees it. Yet everyone hears the squeaks without it.

Trying to resolve this issue with my car, I started with cleaning the seals and applying gummi pflege, which did a decent job, but still left some squeaks.

Next, I tried the tape and got annoyed with trying to make it look good...(no wrinkles or anything) While the noises were mostly gone, it did not exactly look legit

So just today I applied some DuPont Krytox grease on the seals. After going for a quick ride on some known noisy roads, it did the trick as well as the tape if not better. I also noticed that it seemed to cut out a bit of the wind noise as well. All the bros with convertible tops seem to use this stuff to stop the squeaks from the seals...

Standby for how long the grease lasts, Ill keep y'all posted. I have read some other posts with good results from it as well.

I also started experiencing the dreaded noise (which my wife's 335i does have as well) on my new week old 340i. I think the tape solution is probably best but to avoid taking my brand new car back to the dealer already I grabbed some of the WD40 Silicone specialty lubricant I have and applied it to the top felt portion of the rubber seal. All of the noise is immediately gone; we'll see how long this lasts but it only took a couple of mins to apply.

I did the same, sound is gone for now. Hopefully it will last a couple weeks.

I had this issue on my E92 335i. I usually wash my car evey week and I just apply rubber conditioner/cleaner to the rubber seals every time after I washed the car, eventually the squeak did not came back even if I don't apply the cleaner anymore. I still put some cleaner on the seals once in a while just to be sure.

What brand of cleaner/conditioner was it?

Its the regular meguire's trim/rubber/vinyl conditioners that you can get from autozone.

I use just Groits rubber prep now. The Gummi stuff actually made it worse. I just clean the seals 1x week. Should not have to do it on a $58K car. My sons 5year old GTI flexes less, my daughters Cx5 also.

I took my '16 328 in twice for the creaking noises
First time I was given the "could not duplicate concern" bs excuse
Second time, I had more time so I drove with a service tech
He said he knew exactly what the cause was and that the solution was to use a tape on the window seal
Did not mention that there was any service bulletin for it
Got my car back and now the creaking is gone

Are the people buying their own tape outside of the free maintenance period? Or you just like doing your own maintenance? While I am covered, I plan on making sure the dealer takes care of every conceivable repair item

Mine has suddenly gotten worse over the past couple days. Both driver and passenger doors are creaking. Will try the Griot's Rubber/Vinyl conditioner first, then the Gummi Phlege if that doesn't work (I have both). This has to be something that happens to the rubber over time. I never had this for two years.

My 340i started making noise a couple weeks after delivery. Drove me mad. Cleaning the shadowline trim would last a week or so. Finally brought my car to my local dealer and they did a great job with the Teflon tape. Spoke to the tech about it and he said he hadn't seen too many issues as of late but said he saw many issues with the e60. He did an awesome job and obviously took his time. No bubbles and not visible with doors closed. Will only notice it with doors open because you know it's there. Hopefully it lasts.

My 6 months old 340i is having the door creaks after 3500 miles.
Ironically it started few days after I washed/cleaned the car.

I might have applied Aerospace 303 to the rubber seal and trim.
Ordered the $10 and see.

Had the 328i M sport for 3 years and no annoying creaks like this.
