Run flat vs non run flat 20”

I have a 20” M 405 wheel package with run flats. Has anybody swapped out their 20” run flats for 20” non run flats? Was it worth the money? Was it appreciably quieter ? It is my wife’s car so performance Is measured by quiet..

Thanks for all opinions.

I swapped my 18" RFT for 20" non RFT and the difference was startling. Much softer and quieter. I thought all my rattles and squeaks were the norm cause I have a convertible. Really the problem was the RFT's. They suck.

Yes. Changed to non run flats on my 405M setup right after the original Pirelli was gone.
Much more quiet and much better handling.

However, you need to have a emergency solution in case of a flat tire.
I went for the BMW Mobility Set 71102333674. (never had to use it )

The only reason to go back to a RFT setup would be the "safety" of being able to drive a few miles with a flat tire.
(No need to stop in the middle of nowhere. Especially when my wife has the car.)

I don't understand how some can ride 20" with runflats. Risking chipped tooth.

OK...you guys have me convinced...I will order a set of 20" Pilot Sport 4S...and put the run flats on the mart for sale. The tire guy says the slightly larger side wall will fill the gap a hair and maybe make the car look a little less on stilts which was bugging me too.
