I am looking for 405m wheels for my F30. BMW recommends 20" on F30 but I want to put all season tires on them and there isn't much available in 20" sizes. 19" are offered for 2 series. It should fit F30 right? Since there is plenty tire choices available in that size. The question is though is 20" look very different than 19"?

No they don't, they sell F3x with anything from 17" to 20" wheels and even 16" wheels in Europe. There's no "recommended" size.

If you want to see how 19" wheels looks just look at the thousands of wheel posts. It's totally a personal taste, I think 20" wheels are aesthetically a touch too big for F30s. 18" and 19" wheels are my preference. You'll have a lot more All-season tire options in 18" wheels sizes (and cheaper too).

Well here are the links for 19" and if you select F30. it says "This part is not available for the vehicle you selected. Please change the model details or select another category to see products for your selected vehicle."

And if you select 20" it says it is compatible with F30

that is probably because it is sold as a set and the tires on the set are smaller diameter that comes on an F30.

if the offset on the 19" set is around +35front/+47rear it'll work. you'll have to run 225/40/19 and 255/35/19

actually the 19" 405M are 19x7.5" and 19x8" which is a bit narrow and the offsets are too high. it'd need to be 19x8 and 19x8.5.

the OEM 20" 405M is the only size for your F30. i believe there are replicas offered in appropriate width 19's

That's great info. But I have a followup question. Can I do a square setup for 20" with just 4 fronts since I have xdrive
