How easy is this to fit? Is it worth it?

I have ID4 on a 2016 F36.

All depends of car configuration, there is always something what need to be removed or add. Generally they build their product to be P&P, but is customer choice: aftermarket or genuine.

Personally don’t touch any aftermarket products.

I normally don't use products like this but after a really good review from a guy on the facebook group I thought id give it a shot, I really wanted apple car play as I use bbc, podcast and Spotify apps a lot and the idrive integration with Spotify is terrible. All I can say it I'm really pleased with it, its super fast and responsive, sound quality is great as it goes over Bluetooth, build quality is great, plug in and play, nothing needed to be added. Fitting it wasn't to bad, the unit itself it easy but you need to remove the glove box which was the only difficult bit as this unit goes inbetween the glovebox and head unit space. The support in china was really good and helpful, I had some questions and they came back to me really quickly. I have a video of it on my phone ill post up later, or if anyone lives near Newbury you are welcome to come and see it in the flesh. But you wont be disappointed if you went for it, esp for 300 quid

I forgot to add a mic did need to be added for Siri use, you cant use the OEM mic, this I routed it round the trim and you cant see it, to be fair I never really use siri so could have done without it.

Craig sent me everything I needed was mega helpful. If you want CarPlay and you should and Bmw says no, go to Craig. Will post some pictures of my m2. Incidentally the m2 is as good as Bmw say it is. Yes on paper an M240i is as fast. I has one and the m2 is worth every penny of the extra price. You are not buying 0-60 you are buying a superb chassis

Hi guys, I paid time ago for the FSC code to enable CarPlay in my car (F34 2017 with ID5) .. it has been working fine until yesterday due to the BMW software was updated by the dealer and obviously they wiped everything :-(. My current BMW software is 006.017.006.

I already contact with the guy who provide the bin file to enable the CarPlay but I didn't get any response back and I don't think so he will reply me :-( .. my question is: Someone is the same situation has re-applied the CarPlay activation? I'm worried if the FSC Code or bin is not compatible with BMW latest software and I would prefer get some confirmation to avoid any issue.

They announced that iOS 12 will support third party navigation apps like WAZE, so sales on CarPlay will probably go up !!!

Hi there, I have a brand new 2018 F48. It has all options except Carplay. Will I be able to use a FSC code to activate this? I cannot order from the Connected drive store and dealer is telling me it is not an option for my car. I do have Wifi, Wireless charging and Navigation plus. Thanks!

I need to reach out to wibbles too, I just picked up a 2017 F30, my first BMW, but unfortunately it didn't have the wireless charging package so no WiFi antenna. Part ordered and now gotta figure out how to install it and get CarPlay activated!
