OEM BMW Style 405Ms in 18x8 flavour with Goodyear Assym6 F1 tyres (235/45/18 all round) cleaned, Gtechniq C5 treated and fitted today

Just took the car out for a quick spin to make sure the balancing is as it should be and scrub the tyres in a bit; the car drives smoother, quieter and takes the rougher roads much better than the 18" winter RFTs...

Think they look spot on also

Back on the winters for now:

Temps are going down again here and we've snow forecast Sunday onwards!

Peace of mind etc...

Car looks in such good nic and it’s gone to an owner that cares, that’s for sure.

Visited Bowker BMW in Preston today for a full brake fluid service and full health check....

A walk around the showroom offered these 2 stunning cars

E28 M5 with 4k miles and an M1

The visit also highlighted a few bits that are going to be sorted under warranty (I've got full comprehensive cover on the car for 12 months)

So front shock dust boots are being replaced alongside all bolts that'll need to be removed. The horn is intermittent, so that'll be fixed and the tailgate closing is intermittent also, so they'll investigate that and fix it once they sussed the niggle

It's back there on the 28th for this work

F31 up on axle stands; all 4 winter wheels off, wheel arches snow foamed, scrubbed, rinsed and dried off/plastics treated

Summer Style 405Ms back on

Cars absolutely filthy; but temps have gone from -3ºC overnight and 1.5ºC during the day at the beginning of the week to 12.5ºC today!

It's the right time to move back to the summer wheels

Full interior detail this morning; it's all about my broken body can take currently

Carpets thoroughly hoovered, plastics and seat based/sides treated with APC solution and a detailing brush; all wiped down again and then carpets Autoglym Interior Shampoo'd and na stiff bristle brush attachment on for the cordless drill did the hard work.

All wiped down again, re-hoovered and then mats hoovered and brushed, makes my OCD very happy

All leather wiped down and treated with Megs Leather Conditioner; interior hard surfaces wiped down with AGs Vinyl & Rubber care as it dries matte and doesn't leave any residue

Cheers; I've cleaned it a number of times but not to this depth...

Not keen on sitting in someone else's filth

May have missed it elsewhere in the thread, but whats the rear diffuser you have - is it an OEM BMW one?

Considering changing the std one on my F31 330i to something similar.

It does look like it; but it's not OEM BMW; they fit properly!

Collected the car from Bowker BMW yesterday

All the front suspension issues sorted (new bump stops, new dust boots and all new bolts fitted); intermittent horn fixed and the tailgate has had a new latch/switch fitted, so it opens/closes as it should now and no more intermittent latching, but not locking etc

Very happy with that, all under warranty and I paid the £250 excess.

Labour alone would have been much more than that!

New OEM BMW 345mm grooved discs and their corresponding brake pads & wear sensor, ordered via Douglas Park BMW on eBay as they're £50 cheaper than Cotswolds BMW and they were cheaper than Autodoc going for Brembo discs! Plus Nectar points too haha

Also gave the F31 a quick detail as it was pink this morning; the Saharan sands & dust are making their way over to us as per the norm...

Wow, you are on it! I only clean my cars 3 or 4 times a year

Does the Meguiars stuff smell of leather? I normally use Gliptone Liquid Leather and friends and family always comment on it smelling like a new car inside, but it's a faff to rub in. I'm looking for something similar that's easier to rub in

The side decals look great. Were they flimsy vinyl sheets as we suspected? Did the body shop comment if they're a pig to fit?

Haha I'm always washing it; it makes my OCD happy

The Megs stuff, as funny as it sounds, has that fresh pencil sharpened smell to it... Weird, but it's nice... It's a clean smell

The side decals are OEM, the guy that fitted them said they went on really easy with no hassle and said they felt well made...

I know some folk have had issues with theirs; but there are a lot of cheap copies out there too and that's what the guy this morning said.

He'll tell the owner whether he'll fit them or not if they feel that cheap as he'll get it in the neck if there are issues etc. So would rather save his time and hassle by not fitting them etc

I find car cleaning too depressing as there's always a fresh batch of stone chips to greet me

I was following some chump in a landscaping truck on Friday and it hit a bump, which caused loads of stones and dirt to fall off it and straight onto my screen, bonnet and bumper.....at 60mph. I was f'ing fuming
So yeah, lots of chips to fill in now

I'll give the Megs a sniff next time I'm in Halfords

Good to know about the skirt decals
