Driving in Europe with Adaptive LED

Sorry if this has been asked before somewhere, I did try a search but I couldn’t easily find anything.

Does anything need doing with Adaptive LEDs when driving in Europe?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks - any idea where?!
Have gone through the car manual and all it says is to switch the lights off of auto, nothing about iDrive.
Just thought it might be a bit more complicated than that!!

I believe that you can use the Auto setting, but not use the high beam assist as the camera will be calibrated to deal with traffic approaching on the right. Never found a setting in iDrive to adjust for driving on the right (16 plate car), but maybe I didn't know where to look?

Garage List
There's definitely a setting in idrive. Check under the lights setting.

Cheers - manual says turning off the auto lights also disables Adaptive lights, and like you say, don’t use the High Beam Assist!

I wonder why the manual says you should turn off the Auto setting - doesn't that just ensure the daytime running lights come on when you start the car, or am I missing something?

Says that the auto mode is not only auto lights, but activates the adaptive lights and the “variable light distribution may result in a blinding effect”

I guess I’ll just go with what the manual says and see what happens!

Previously on my F31 if you switch the lights to manual it produces a flat beam and stops throwing the light too far to the left which will blind the Europeans. The adaptive lights still work but HBA does not. My current car has a left/right setting in the lights section in iDrive so I no longer need to do this but I have tried switching to manual and even on the G31 it does exactly the same as the F31.

Thanks a lot. Definitely no left/right setting on the iDrive, so I’ll go with the switch to ‘manual’
