N20 not as slow as I thought
So after I roasted this engine for a good bit, I have to say the car isn’t that terribly slow. By know means is it fast.. After a lot of money spent and wasted finally got the car pretty good. I’ve raced a few cars down in Mexico. To my surprise the car did very well. Ran a fbo g37s a fbo 370z same engine obv just z is a lot lighter. A 392 charger stock and a tuned x5m. I was very impressed with the n20. I’ll have to start to record more of these and post them.!

Agree that the N20 is not as shitty as everyone likes to pretend. Pretty quick off the line but will run out of speed in the top end versus the 6 cylinders.
You should take it to the strip someday and join this FB page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2443...651/?ref=share |

Saying you "ran" a 392 and an X5M is one thing. Whether you could still even see their brake lights afterwards is another. The 392 I imagine could be a reasonably close race, but the X5M, probably not.
I've always said that these cars are quick and powerful enough to be fun, but once a car with any real power shows up, it's game over. Quick compared to regular cars, slow compared to most performance cars.

Right? Stock X5M is in REALLY low 12s and can do it all day long. I'm saying goodbye to my N54 E92 and moving into an F31 330i right now, my modding goals are just to get somewhere CLOSE to what I'm leaving behind. And I know it won't ever be all that close! But I do love this little wagon anyway. |

If you're E92 was stock, then a stage 2 N20 will surpass that cars performance. If your E92 was modified, then it's a different story.

I haven't personally used dragy or anything, but I've raced a WRX that launches with a 1.7 60ft. I pulled half a car on him by 75 ish before I had to let off cause a car pulled out in front of me. I'd say a modified n20 can do 0-60 in 4.0 with some e30 easily.

Have to play every car to its strengths. The N20 cars are quick but not straight line dominant, it will never be a competitive drag strip car. At autox or a track day in the corners and on the brakes is a whole other story. There have been many N55 cars I have passed easily working those angles. The straight line speed was also way closer than you would guess, even the FBO stage 2 cars.
