I recently purchased a 2018 330e. As many know, this PHEV has secondary lights when being unlocked via fob that illuminates the interior with awesome blue LEDs. If possible, I would like to extend the length of time this remains active along with the LEDs in the handles. Currently, this seems to relax itself after 20-30 seconds, and I'd just like to change it to 90, or 120 seconds.
I currently have an iPhone 11 Pro with the OBDLink CX, BimmerCode and BimmerLink. Using these things, I have already done the mirrors, turned off safety warnings, etc... but I can't figure out if there is a setting in expert mode that would make this possible, or if I need to get an enet cable and esys. I have very limited experience doing a couple small changes on my old e90 a couple years ago with the old software, but no knowledge as to how to use the newer stuff for the f Series. In a perfect world, I'd also like to unlock the ability for my car to properly use its adaptive LED headlights, assuming it isn't limited by US market hardware, and for it to read and display more road signs in the HUD, or dash, or someplace. I have included a picture of all the options the dealer showed me the car has. |

In FEM_BODY search for WL_TIMEOUT and change the werte to the desired hex.
14 = 20 seconds 28 = 40 seconds Etc .. If you would like 1 m 20 sec your wert should say: 56 Last edited by Ibo24; 02-17-2021 at 03:15 PM.. |

So, I finally got around to trying this today, and I flat out can't find the section I was told about. I did end up finding some other parts that may be applicable. Anyone know if these are relevant?

I don't have one in my menus. I've made sure it's up to date, and I seem to have the latest istep from what I can tell, but the only place I found that is in expert. I have no idea what's what in there.
I'm assuming it's because it's a 330e rather than a 330i. I also can't get video-in-motion because when the menu is supposed to pop up, I get a charging menu instead. |

As previously said:
You can search for specific fld codes by swiping down. FEM_BODY WL_TIMEOUT It is there for 100% sure! |

Ooohhhh... I was looking through everything in fem_body manually because I didn't know there was a search function. Didn't see it anywhere on the FAQ. Me am feel dumb now.

Okay, so I've gone into the menu again, and tried to work out what's what. I do, in fact, have a "welcome lights" section without going into expert mode. For whatever reason, I'd forgotten. Looking through those options, none seems applicable to my situation. The lights it controls are those that remain on for 60 secs once it's unlocked, not the ones that shut off after ~20 secs, which would be the LEDs in the handles and the blue LEDs that light up the cabin when it is first unlocked. The hex value is 3C, which translates to 60 in decimal.
Because it's around 20 secs, the value must be elsewhere, but I'm not specifically seeing anything that seems to be in that hex range of 10-18, or 16-24 secs in decimal except the one I was told, but it says "unassigned value" and the hex code says 60 secs, which is what I have all the welcome lights set to. So, now I dunno what to do next. Anyone with any ideas? Could it be that if I change the value of wert to another number, that will control the lights I want even though an "unassigned value" 60 secs is that's checked? |
