Isn't the Passat a transverse mount & Audi forward mount? If still so they don't share platforms.

BMW is totally a generation behind when it comes to that stuff. Nobody should be using the built in GPS applications in cars anymore. Google maps/Waze should be your only option.
It was the coolest thing I've ever seen tech wise in a car. Audi has really stepped it up in both the performance and tech. BMW will need to come out with something in 2018 to compete.

?? You bought the wrong BMW. And you didn't understand how BMW views AWD as opposed to how Audi views it. BMW designs and builds RWD cars. That's what you should have bought, with a sport suspension. BMW figures if you want xDrive you must live somewhere where you get a butt-load of snow and you really need to get through it no matter what. Otherwise you'd be buying what they designed, a RWD model. And, as has been mentioned, Audi doesn't make an A4 model that competes with the stock 335/340. The RS jumps higher than the 335/340 in both power and price. The ratio of 335/340 sales to 328/330 is much higher than the ratio of RS4 sales to A4 sales.

The bottom line between the two makes always comes down to this - if you buy a base Audi (A4, A6, even A8) you get a FWD car. If you buy a base BMW you get a weight balanced, RWD car. And RWD cars are capable of sportier driving dynamics than FWD cars are.
340 competes with S4 pricewise, hpwise and sizewise, at least it used to. It used to have rear biased (60-40) AWD but that may have changed in B( as Audi has gone back to FWD/AWD system in A4 and Q5 and not sure about S4. I'm sure it will be fine but its basically FWD until you need AWD so I guess th e60/40 bias is gone.......

The S4 will still be Quattro its slightly RWD biased but not by much.

You can option a 2018 s4 with Quattro with sports differential for a 40:60 default split to front:rear respectively. XDrive uses the same default split

But you're right on the Quattro ultra is fwd by default as it disconnects the rear

What does Android Auto have to do with coolest tech? BMW made a decision to include Apple Car Play only. The tech is the same as Android Auto.

The G30 5er supports wireless Apple CarPlay. Does the 2018 Audi line up support wireless Android Auto?

Actually the stock 340i makes more power at the wheels than the B9 S4. With MPPSK it blows it away power wise. The B58 engine is a gem.

The tech is not the same, one only works with apple, the other works with apple and android. All B9's (2017+) work with android auto or apple car play and yes it is wireless. Also they also have a sim card slot for hotspot capability which I don't think BMW has done. Most people dont think this is needed, but its still a nice feature.

Without Adaptive suspension XDrive 3er cars come with stock non-sport suspension which are on the softer side.

According to the dyno numbers your 2010 S4 made more power at the wheel than the 2018 B9 S4.

So you bought the wrong car. You should have bought the 340i which makes a lot more power than the B9 S4 and about the same power as your 2010 S4 at the wheels. With the MPPSK it is no contest.

The Tech is the same the head unit has a QNX based OS that can talk the protocol. BMW decided not to support Android Auto. Don't confuse a business decision with lack of technology.

What rubbish? Got any source on that?

Watch the instructional video that says you have to plug the phone into USB.

Are you going to just keep making stuff up to make Audi look better and shit on BMW?

Dyno's are not meant to be used that way. They are a diagnostic tool to verify tune/modifications added power and how much they added.

B8 S4's show between 280-300 AWHP out of the box. I already stated that i knew my 335i was going to make less power I just didn't realize it was going to be so annoying.

The 340i without the mppk makes 320 out of the factory same as the B8 S4. The B9 S4 is making 350 crank which is close to the 340 with the mppk. That said I'd still chose the B9 S4 over a 340 with MPPK for a multitude of reasons.

Dude get your head pit of Audi's ass.. you sound like a rabid fanboy.

If the tech was the same it would support both OS types. Its does not therefore the tech is not the same.

My source is that I drove a 2017 A4 for a week with my android auto synced up. https://www.android.com/auto/audi/

lets not forget the Fancy LCD readout in the gauge cluster which provides way more useful data and information than the 3 series.

Anyways, my heads not up Audi's ass. If anything I am disappointed in the way they handled the DSG issues that came up for many of us. Based on your extreme lack of knowledge regarding the B9's and Audi in general its safe to say you are the fanboi here.

It makes 320-330 at the wheels. More than the S4. I am sure you would because all your posts make you sound like an Audi fanboy.

You consistently get facts that you can easily verify about BMWs wrong, just so you can claim Audi is better.

Audi makes great cars if you like them, awesome for you. But stop making stuff up to prove your point.

You did this wirelessly without plugging the phone into USB. Something Audi says you must to to make it work. They even say you have to use a manufacturer approved cable as 3rd party cables might not support the data transfer properly.

Where does your link say you can wirelessly use Android Auto on those Audis?

It appears I know the B9 Audi better than you do.

Show me data that Audi supports Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. Not just your claim, independently verifiable data.

You for sure can use it wirelessly I believe you do need to have a wifi hotspot installed though. Without connection to the wifi it wont work, so theres a downside. But BMW still has zero android auto support...

It's also possible I am not remembering correctly and I had it plugged in. Either way they still offer android auto support.

The 340i has been dynoed at 330ish stock to the wheels. We all know BMW is very conservative on their numbers, so this makes sense.

To get a TRUE comparison, we need to put a S4 on the same dyno on the same day as a 340i

Regardless, I'm not sure what you expected from a 335i, but isn't it only 306hp stock?

I came from a B7 S4 (340hp) to a 328i and a 340i. The 340i blows my S4 out of the water with supposedly less HP. There is NO WAY the 340i is only 320hp unless the S4 drivetrain loses that much power from crank to wheel.

From my experience its better to see whats what on a 1/4 mile. Seems the the 340i is running 12.4-12.8, my stock b8 S4 ran a 13.2 some guys can get it up to 12.8 but its rare and they have manual trans. The B9 has an additional 30 hp and ran a 12.8. I am sure with the right conditions they can get that down to a 12.6. The 340 would be about as fast maybe a touch faster than the B9 S4, with the MPPK it would be much faster.
