Bootmod3 any discounts?

So after waiting forever for a used bootmod3 license to come available I think I might be better off just buying a new one. Are there any discounts available? $600 is kinda high for some software.

I think it's hilarious dude said he thinks $600 is steep for some software lol! If you need a discount like what r u expecting $20 off? Get real bro, maybe tuning your car isn't for you. Go buy a used piece of shit JB4 for $300 and spend the next year complaint about how shitty it is before ultimately selling the car or just getting bm3

i found a used license for 350$ a few days after posting. There is always someone selling. You may need to go them vs you waiting for them to come to you.

If you buy a license for $600, you can sell it once later for $300-400 so how much did it really cost?

To begin with, look at the price. It is $250 for the flasher license and $99 per map pack. That's really cheap considering you get a map for every type of fuel. Also, the MHD app is a lot easier to use than the BM3 panel. MHD does not require connection to internet, only to purchase the licenses. All it requires is either an OBD2 to Micro USB cable or the MHD WiFi adapter which is only $70.

I've gone through Stage 1, Stage 2, and now Stage 2+ and I have never experienced any issues. The car performs well and has been reliable throughout my entire time owning it.

One of the biggest complaints on MHD is weak off the shelf maps when compared to bootmod3. Also slower updates

There is no doubt that BM3 pushes the power level compared to MHD, but at what cost is the questions.

Why fix something that isn't broken but then again BM3 just released V7 and seems that many are suffering from overboost and HPFP crashes. Those that just update without logging will ultimately pay the cost for just relying on there butt dyno.

A weak tune is considered broken. Bootmod3 is more aggressive but still very reliable and safe. There is still a lot of room left for more power safely, proven by Active Autowerke and custom tuners.

These are my thoughts exactly. MHD might leave a little more on the table, but i am fine with that given the simplicity and reliability. However, i know others feel different, and that is presumably why they go BM3. I know how much i hated chasing hardware issues and have to log, post, review, repeat, constantly... no way i would want to go through that with a tune just to try and squeeze out a little more power. Again, personal opinion/preference.

Weak = broken doesnt really make sense... It's not weak nor broken, it's just conservative... and reliable.

And yes, while there is still room left to make power safely, the statement wasn't questioning the "cost" of BM3 due to BM3 making more power, it was due to the issues like overboost and HPFP crashes. No one is saying BM3 is "risky" because it [can] make more power than MHD.

You always need to log on any tuned car periodically and especially when on a new map. All cars are differnent. Many are doing well on the new V7 maps and just have not posted. There are only a few that are having HPFP crashes. That is a minority. The new maps push much closer to custom map levels, but are still safe and have all safety mechanisms in place. They are really amazing!

That is awesome to hear that you and others are not having any issues with the current BM3 V7.

Care to share a current log running V7 with us?

There are many ways to tune a vehicle. There is nothing wrong with a conservative tune or an aggressive tune (done right).

No one company or map is perfect. Ideally, you'll want a custom tune. That being said we've had great feedback with Bootmod3 BM3.

I’ve had a couple PSI overboost on E30 V7 and the 2H E30, but no HPFP crashes, so the extra boost is fine(and welcome!)for my car.

This is on 2H E30 and is great.

Thanks for sharing.

But yes your rail pressure is dropping just like everyone else that has posted using BM3 V7 update. Also, your IAT's are pretty high along with your WGDC%.

What mods are your running? Which FMIC did you go with?

Looks like BM3 V7 is affecting not only the pump gas and E30 OTS maps but as well as the 2H OTS maps.

But you are right about your pump not crashing, although there is clearly a sizable dip in rail pressure both in your 4th gear and towards the upper RPM band of 5th gear.

Im sure BM3 will work it out with its next revision!
