Long story short.

Will JB4 pass emissions with catless DP? Simple answer NO!

What do I need to pass emissions with the JB4 in map 0 and a catless DP? CatSimulator module or a DP Fix.

Are there any of these devices available for the F30? YES

We should probably consult with a VW engineer on the subject. They probably have the most experience :-D

I would love to hear more from you (or others) about that. I am not aware of something that really works for the F30.

The IO2 CatSim has been confirmed to work on the F Chassis cars.

After researching this further and I had a hunch... it's really not worth the headache to bother with a dp...... If you look at the charts at 3:29 and 3:34 you'll see a difference of only 5+hp @ 5100 rpm and torque is not much different... which is basically the rpm your car will be at while wot shifting and the difference drastically decreases after that upto it's redline shift.... so for me.... not gonna worry about changing it out... don't really care about the low end advantage as the car is more than just fine for driving around ... only real advantage would be for drag racing from a dead dig...

I agree with your sentiment buttt... certain flash tunes supposedly require a catlless DP which is keeping me on the fence.

Anyone running a flash tune without a catless DP ?

I was originally running BM3 with Stage 1 93 with stock cat. Gains were great and it really woke the car up, Installed catless VRSF DP a week ago and went to Stage 2 93 AGG. Holy shit, night and day. Not only power wise but that sound! The car sounds like a monster. Real grumbly if that's even a word and the burbles are sick. For me the catless DP was totally worth it.

Which flash tune are you running? Im trying to make a decision and have been contemplating going with one of the "less popular" tuners like Bimmer Performance Center or Velos Designwerks.

I like being different

Stage 1 to stage 2 yea that's a major jump for the tune.. FMIC/DP is a must...But on 2014+ cars with a stock 4" pipe I definitely don't see a $1400 advantage for me to buy a HF catted one and the smell wouldn't go over well in my enclosed parking garage for a catless... yes you can get a Catless to pass from what I've read ... but again for me the smell isn't worth it for me just for a little gain... as for sound... to tell you the truth... the only sound that's worth it is a v8, especially a flat plane crank.... on these no matter how you dress it up it just doesn't sound like it's worth it to me anyways from all I've heard...

Yea I like being different also... but practical... can't beat MHD for ease of use... I'm running stage2+ 93.... car moves real good... but of course I want more... but the next step would be PS2... but I'm still contemplating it since I live in the city... can't wait to get this car up in the Pocono's Mountain... I was just there on vacation and I ran into a mustang with a blower making 650hp... the roads are so nice and twisty... Poconos race way is right there too... I was in my family SUV...

I hear you man. I lived on the UES for about 15 years and was dying to get myself a fast stinky car but the parking situations sucked. Now I'm in the burbs and have a garage to park in and really don't care about the neighbors haha!
