Question What is the next step after CAI, CP, FMIC, DP and tune?

Purely from a horsepower/torque standpoint, what comes next after CAI, CP, FMIC, DP and a tune? I have a '12 335i sedan - PWG N55. What is the next logical power adder I should consider? I am thinking fuel delivery, meth injection, and maybe a bigger turbo. What other options are there? There is tons of information here for all the FBO options, but not many that I can find for beyond that point (...and maybe my search skills are lacking as well...). Just curious where you folks would spend your money if you had up to about $5,000 to spend on squeezing more out of the 3.0 liter?
I recognize that traction and transmission longevity become an issue as the power goes up, but for the sake of this post let's keep to power adders only. Thanks in advance!

M LSD, you need to get the power to the ground.

I'm curious about the end goal here. Are you just looking to maximize straight-line speed (ie. for drag racing)?

Fantastic question! I would say straight line speed is the primary goal, but not for drag racing of any sort. This is my daily driver and I have a 41 mile one way commute to work which is 80% two lane highway with a 55 mph speed limit. Lots of opportunity to pass farm tractors and combines, as well as slower vehicles, so I'm looking for some more 50-80 mph punch. Plus I miss the 500+ hp I had with a previous vehicle, truth be told.

It appears that meth, a bigger turbo, higher volume fuel pump, and an LSD are in order. I've done meth injection and fuel pump upgrades on that past vehicle so I have an idea of what that entails. Even though I have also installed a ProCharger as well, the turbo and LSD I would let a local indy shop do for me. The older I get, the less I enjoy the wrenching....sad, but honestly true.

M3 is nice, but some of us refuse to own four door cars. Never had one, never will

I'm not usually the type of person to recommend getting an M3, but if you don't enjoy wrenching yourself, then why spend all that money on mods? Why not just buy 2015 M3 for about $45k? You'd have a much better platform to modify. You've got twin turbos, air to water intercooler, slightly nicer interior. You'll also get a trick eLSD which will be better than anything you can install in your F30 and superior suspension geometry which would be hard to replicate in an F30. I bet with just at tune and some bolt-ons, you could get over 500hp on the M3 fairly easily. Don't forget that the transmission in the F80 is also rated higher (regardless if you get 6MT or DCT/8HP).

The market is just saturated with lightly used M3s so you can get a decent deal on one. You could part out your car and probably get about $20k for it all in? Just a thought.

This is the competing path that I am wrestling with. I am thinking that I just didn't buy the correct model....even though I went from a 320i to a 335i, I should have made the leap straight to the M3...

Do it get the M, you know it's the right move and cause less headaches in the future.

Still depends on what you want. The fact that the 335 is available with Xdrive I like a lot while the M3 tends to have traction isssues.

There are future turbo kits coming out that will allow the 335i to exceed the power levels of stock and tuned M3s and make PS2 look obsolete ,so that and AWD makes me stay right here!!!! 335i Xdrive Estroil Blue 6spd MT

This is the biggest main reason I bought my car instead of a M3... you just can't beat AWD for real world conditions... Just hit the gas and it goes no questions asked...

If the M3 goes AWD as rumored... then I'll get one of those...
