Just for sh*ts and giggles I ran a few logs last night.

Looks like I'm still dropping a lot when shift changing...

If it's the DV Valve I'm not to worried as those are pretty easy to get a hold of and not to costly. I guess we'll have to wait until Wednesday. Until then...

Yah the DV is definitely a possibility...

On another note. I scheduled a smoke test on Wednesday and I got a reply back from PTF "Could be the diverter valve starting to fail, but it keeps boost pretty OK at 5000RPM. I don't think it's a boost leak, if it should it's very small."

Strange because the DV valve is brand new. Talking with a few other people they said the diaphragm could be dried out or not seated correctly. We'll look closely at that during the smoke test.

I'll keep everyone posted. The plot thickens....

That's your log from the photo.

Just curious did either one of you use the Main Piston Spring or leave it out on your DV Valve? I'm scheduled for the smoke test tomorrow morning and we were considering pulling the DV valve out and checking it. I also picked up a 2nd DV valve if it looks like this one failed.

Use the spring they give you. Without it, the DV+ isn't worth much.

Just so we're correct. The circled spring in the photo is what you're talking about? The provided "main spring".

Yes.

We all decided to use it. Technically, you can operate without it and your DV will act as an OEM unit.

The stiffer spring is pretty much what allows the DV to do what it does, not a real point in installing it without using the spring it comes with.

Found the boost leak! Smoke test found it within 5 mins. Looks like when my chargepipe was installed the gasket was seated incorrectly near the throttle body and stretched a little. Just to be safe we changed out the gasket and we’ll be buttoning things up in a few minutes. Resmoked it and the leak was fixed. Hopefully this solves the problem. I’ll run some new logs when I get home this evening. 😀

That's good to hear! Hoping this fixes all of that.

Thank you! Thank you! I'm sure you'll all be glad to not hear about my ride anymore...LOL It's been a long 2 months of diagnosing. After the fix, we ran some quick logs and the only thing we see is target boost may be set too high. It's showing 28psi of boost but we're not sure if that's the DME learning now that the boost leak is fixed or something that PTF made in the adjustments in the tune to over compensate for the loss in boost. I'm going to run some new logs this evening on the current tune to see where I stand now.

Yup! I've yet to try it out but I'll probably migrate over eventually. It's a pain to keep an E30 mix all the time but worst comes to worse, I have my agent in my car and can swap in 30 sec.

Haha, I didn't mind hearing about it at all. I kinda like talking about this stuff if ya can't tell

At this point, I would just try the normal OTS Stage 2 map and take some logs and post 'em up. Since the problem is fixed, it should take well to the OTS map.

That’s actually the same thing the kid said today after he fixed my boost leak. Go back to the OTS map and see what happens.

Nice. So is the E30 map OTS, I don't see it.

How's it feel on E30?

Annnnnd.....It still looks like I'm having boost issues........

I flashed back to the Stage 2 OTS 93oct map and ran some logs.

Looks like to much boost deviation coming out of 3rd gear and going into 4th but 5th gear looks pretty good. Not sure if that's something PTF can tweak in the tune? Most likely? Take a look at Ignition timing 3 (deg) it seems to be running a lot lower than the other 3 points. Not sure if that's normal? You can follow along pretty clear in this log: http://www.bootmod3.net/www/index.html#/drawer/logs
