Vehicle Configuration Inconsistent:Check 2015 328i

Hey all, I'm new to this forum and new to BMW's.

I have a 2015 328i M Sport, recently it has been giving me check lights regarding parking assist, retractable hard top, and lane keep assist.

These are all features that my car does not have.

The car is in perfect mechanical condition and I was wondering if any of you have encountered these issues.

It's currently being examined by BMW of Montgomery, however the seem to have no idea what's going on.

I appreciate any advice you all may have.

Hi,

Just in case someone else is having this issue, the problem was resolved for me (so far so good) by taking the car to my dealer and doing a software reprogramming which took a few hours. Apparently some glitch caused the configuration mixup, my car suddently had an identity crisis and thought was another model

On the bright side, I got the latest software (newer than the one I had from BMW's update page) which hopefully may have fixed other (unknown so far) issues :>

Hi Guys,

New BMW owner coming over from the VW TDI club to the BMW diesel world. Love the car after a years worth of ownership. Averaging 50mpg during my daily commute.

But just the other day, my wife took it out and when she started it up to come back home, she got the following errors:

- Retractable Top: Check Fixation (don't have convertible!)
- Parking Brake Malfunction
- Lane Departure Warning Malfunction (don't have this function activated!)
- Vehicle Configuration Inconsistent: Check
- Parking Assistant: Park Manually

She was able to drive home with these errors but I don't want to keep driving it with them. Can't get any help from the dealership until Jan 2nd because of the holiday.

Any advice? Thanks!

These errors could probably be corrected using E-Sys, but only if you have the required hardware and software, and know how to use it. Wait until Tuesday, take it to the dealer.

That's the plan, but I don't want to be stuck in this situation in the future. How do I prepare myself to take care of this myself. Hardware / software, etc. thanks and happpy new year!

I am experiencing the same issue. It happened couple of days ago. Did yours get resolved? and what was the issue?

Hi I have just had the same thing happen on my 2017 F36 440i GC. Yon starting the car I get a picture of a 1 series on the dash followed by messages errors for: convertible roof. Check secure!, drivetrain fault, parking brake failure, and lane departure waning failure. The car still runs fine but cluster seems to be acting up.

Has anyone been able to find a dealer alternative way to fix this? I have ISTA, eSYS and a enet cable.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
