Remote switch on line for amp/sub

So I've just upgraded from my e90 to f30 and whilst the sound is a lot better as standard, I still want to move my amp/sub into my new car.

In the e90, I tapped into the lighter socket to get my remote switch on signal for the amp however on the f30, it seems to be on all the time.

It's really important for me to have the amp only switched on when the engine is running. I want to be able to listen to music without the sub whilst the engine is switched off.

I'm really struggling to find a 12v power source that is only live when the engine is running. I've had the head unit and dash out and I can't find anything in there.

Any ideas?

You can see it the power goes off after 2-5 minutes. I know lot of the trunk fuse controlled accessories turn off after this time.

I've read that they turn off when you lock the doors, either way, I really need the amp to switch off as soon as I stop the engine.

You could use an AudioControl LC6i. It's an expensive bit of kit just for a turn on trigger though.

Just for future visitors - I managed to sort it.

I used a fuse spur cable from the boot/trunk. I think it was the electric window fuse I used. I just went through each one Until I found one that switched on and off with the engine.

How did you get the line out to the boot? did you use a harness?
