There's an aftermarket CF hood for the M2 (see the home page feature story) so some enterprising company might have one available. But after seeing the work involved in installation you'd be better off just buying an M3/M4. Or just do a wrap if all you want is the cosmetics.

If you can afford to purchase a carbon fiber roof, which would be thousands in aftermarket fabrication to bring the car back to safety standards, then why can't you just buy a real ///M instead of trying to make a fake ass knock off by destroying a 335i in the process?

You could always wrap it instead. Save you money and safety. Just make sure its gloss finish and not the ugly matte looking one

I've not seen anything available, saw one-or-two of these installed on the E90Post forum, but doesn't seem to have hit the F3x crowd yet. Wouldn't surprise me of the M3 roof would fit, quite an expensive option though - it's nearly £2k in the UK.

Had a few idle moments, so thought I'd look a bit harder for this: ecs tuning has an OEM one https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...l/41318057027/
Appears as if it should fit F30 as well.

You can get the OE one. If your F30 has a sun roof, you'll have to get a new headliner. You may have to get additional OE support beams. This can all be welded in and be as strong as it is for the factory M3. The E46 guys have been doing this for the past 10 years with the CSL cf roof, so I'm not sure why there are those above crying about it.

This is going to be so unnecessarily expensive to do. Probably 5 grand if welding and such is required. Also what's the point? To shave off a few tenths on the max lap time?
The reason no one does this is because there is approximately no benefit associated with the cost of this mod. Careful on this one!

I agree, just get the F80, but then again aren't there wheels that are $5k a set? and M performance carbon fiber add ons for F8x that are $5k a set? there's lot of cosmetic only mods out there! |

I installed a CSL roof on my old E46. The roof skin doesn't provide any structural support. Just make sure the bow that spans the b pillars is welded in place.

I can't explain why but i feel that vinyl wrap is a close cousin to putting an m sticker on an f3x. paint to specification and real cf parts are the way to go. Love that e46 csl replica above!! |

The appearance and cost/benefit ratio are subjective aspects of this mod.
