Instead of offering the tight BMW suspension we've grown accustomed to since the 80s as standard equipment, now we have to pay for it. Problem is the word still isn't out yet, you still have thousands of BMW aficionados thinking an F30 is sporty right out of the gate and certainly don't know about the XDrive M-Sport bait and switch. It's a mess. I believe this is the matrix of BMW suspensions for the F3X, I'm somewhat knowledgeable and even I get confused:

M-Performance Suspension (RWD)
M-Performance Suspension (XDrive)
Adaptive M Suspension (RWD)
Adaptive M Suspension (XDrive)
M-Sport Suspension (RWD)
M-Sport Suspension (XDrive)
Standard Suspension (RWD)
XDrive Suspension (XDrive)
Isn't M Performance Suspension only for RWD models?

Correct. I think that list is a little confusing.

Does DHP do anything to help with steering feel? I've got the 335xi M Sport, and even in sport + mode i couldn't tell you if I was driving on ice or gravel through the steering wheel's feedback.

If you read what I wrote, that was my point- so many suspensions and so many differences it's hard to keep up.

The reason there are XDrive versions and RWD versions of each suspension (perhaps except the M Performance) is because the RWD versions have bigger rollbars that the XDrive versions lack.

So when getting opinions on which version feels like what to whom there is a lot more than meets the eye.

My impression is that the M performance suspension kit(MPSK) is RWD only, and it requires the sport anti-roll bars, or else it is extra parts and labor to install MPSK.

I have driven F30 XDrive with ZSL, it is not bad, my guess is that the Munich engineers believe that with XDrive the sport anti-roll bars are not needed.

I realize BMW's adjustable dampers (Dynamic Handling) is primarily about suspension management during cornering/road condition events (quickly adjusting to changing conditions), but how good is it on a daily basis as far as a perceptible ride quality adjustment? In other words, does it create a meaningful change in ride quality when in Touring (softer ride)? I've test driven both the CTS V-Sport and 335 with adjustable dampers, and on short drives, honestly it's hard to tell a significant difference in ride between the settings.

Yes. It makes comfort mode amazingly compliant without making it too floaty, if that makes sense. Compared to my E90, it's night and day. I only did shorter test drives in comparable F30s with and without, but even then, comfort was more comfortable and sport was, well, sportier with the m adaptive suspension on xDrive cars.

ANTI-roll bars? Ride height etc etc.
