Bay Area Service Centers

My front and rear brake pads are almost worn out, thus needing to go in for a brake job under warranty. My question is, does anyone have any experience with service centers and aftermarket mods? Some of my mods are easily reversible such as piggyback and intake. And there are some I won't bother with such as springs and MPE. My biggest concern is my ER downpipe. I'm just going in for a brake job, but afraid they will mark me down for it and void my drivetrain warranty.

BTW, I typically visit Peter Pan BMW but will travel a bit for the assurance.

It's confirmed that they will overlook my mods, given I'm not having any warranty work done? Just done want to take the risk, thanks!

If you are looking for a performance shop we are in the Los Gatos area, just outside of San Jose! If you are ever in the neighborhood, please feel free to swing by!

I always go to Justin in Peter Pan. Knew him when he was at Fremont and followed him to Peter Pan after he switched.

I'm actually going in for brakes too, so I'll try to remember to ask for you lol

Please do! I can undo most of my mods but the downpipe is my biggest concern. Please update me on what he says.

I typically use Justin at Peter Pan but now he's gone, any others that are mod friendly here? I'm just going in for the removal of the BMW Assist and Concierge service.

Dang, don't really want to make the drive. I looked at some yelp reviews and it looks like Kenny Lew has had consistently good reviews. One of the Yelper mentioned he also drives a modified bimmer, hopefully he's just as cool if not better!

I go over to Peter Pan about once a week (I just like hanging out there..and always get a mocha while I'm there) They all know me. Kenny has a modified car as far as DP and JB4 but as I have said in other threads, it is not the SA's who run the show--it is the techs and foremen. But for brakes, you will be fine with mods. I had my brakes done there a couple months ago and left the mods on. Right now I am dealing with a fault issue and they made me take them off. I'm driving stock now, other than the CP, and not liking it.

I have an appt. on tuesday for a rattle and plan on driving with Jared, a foreman. I went in a month ago with the codes intact and drove with another foreman and after seeing my mods they said take them off because we can't diagnose. But, I have had things done there several times this year and left the mods on.

I just had it removed on Wednesday. Had requested for Kenny but I guess he wasn't there so I was greeted by Wai again. Got it all done and had some recall work to do but I have an aftermarket intake so they couldn't perform it. Do you think it'll affect my warranty if anything engine related were to happen?

Btw, I took like 4 cups of coffee that day for me and my girlfriend man they're good especially the french vanilla with some espresso

Typically it is internal, so bmw does not see the mods. What recall work were you looking to get done? I have never dealt with Wai..but I think she is that somewhat cute Asian girl?
Yeah those coffees rock..I have hadone several of the French Vanilla but the regular Mocha extra strong is how I roll.

Yeah that used to be her. Now she just looks overworked but glad she got to be assistant service manager.

I was due for thermostat recall and turbo oil feed line recall.

Back to the espresso machine....took my son to Starbucks yesterday for a hot chocolate and he said, "this hot chocolate is terrible, the one at the bmw dealer is much better." Maybe, I'll just take him there for hot chocolate. And then he said the best thing..."it's free too" When he said that I thought of this thread.

Hi all, bought my CPO F30 328i at Fremont BMW. It's ready for a service but I live closer to Stevens Creek BMW. Any current recommendations for SAs there? The only mod I have so far is an AA axle back exhaust. Looking to do a CAI and AA tune this year, so hoping to find a friendly SA. Thanks.

Any recommendations for warranty work? Just looking for them to actually do the work properly...
Fremont looks pretty terrible on Yelp, so looking to see who which service advisors and technicians y'all recommend in the Bay.

Hey all, been looking through the forums but they seem to be a little old. Has there been any update on mod friendly dealers/SA's in the Bay Area?

How about non-dealer service in the San Jose area? Any good local shops?
