First time BMW owner

Hey all,
I just wanted to say hey and introduce myself a bit. Picked up my first BMW on Saturday, a 2014 328i GT with 66k on the odometer. The GT was a better choice over the standard 3-series since im 6'6" and still need to be able to add my three kids to the back seat occasionally. AWD is great as well, especially with the biploar weather we have been getting here in the mountains recently.

That being said, are there any known weak points or problem areas I should be on the lookout for? The car appears to have been very well maintained by the previous owner, and i would like to ensure a long service life.

Thanks,
Chris

Search the site for 'timing chain'. It's a known problem, and you're 4,000 miles out from the end of warranty coverage.

Congrats and nice ride! The charge pipe seems to be a common weak spot even on a stock car. It's made of cheap molded plastic and prone to failure at the throttle body.

Thanks for the input guys, I am definitely going to check with my local dealer regarding the timing chain. Is there a best/most recommended replacement for that charge piping? Or is a replacement kit with a new intercooler a better idea?

Thanks again,
Chris

Really don’t need to replace OEM intercooler unless you go Stage 2 with bolt on modifications.

Might wanna check though to see if the ZF transmission pan/fluid has been replaced yet.
