Spark plugs upgrade

2016 340xi

car will be bm3 tuned with downpipe and charge pipe, possibly fmic

will oem spark plugs be able to handle extra power and boost or should i upgrade ? and if so, what would you recommend i upgrade to?

NGK SILZKBR8D8S (97506) Laser Iridium gapped at .022-.023 is what I use with Stg2 AA OBD Flash Tune + Pure Stg2 Turbo & 3.5bar TMAP sensor

These are 1 step colder for N55, 2 steps colder for N54

Just make sure to buy authentic NGK plugs from reputable vendor - don't cheap out & buy them from places like eBay or Amazon - the cheaper price plugs are Chinese fakes and you will regret saving the few $$

Meaning what? You don't think there are NGK fake plugs out there?

The plug link I referenced @ ECSTuning are genuine - NGK will tell you who are authorized dealers and who are not...

Stock spark plugs will be fine with just a tune and downpipe. You can use the NGKs if you want, but it's not necessary based on everyone's experiences here.

While I'm sure there are counterfeit spark plugs, I'm sure most NGK spark plugs on eBay and Amazon are real. Just remember, if you're paying significantly less than the street price for anything, you're likely getting something shady (stolen or fake). I usually try to stay away from items from China that cost much less than their street prices. At best they're stolen from production lines and I don't want to endorse that behavior. It's probably best to buy directly from Amazon.com (not a 3rd party) or from an authorized reseller's eBay page. Or just buy from FCP Euro or ECS.

Meaning that just because they're on Amazon or Ebay doesn't mean they're fake, LOL!

By your logic of "cheaping out" the ECS ones are cheaper than the ones I just looked at on Amazon. Does that mean the ECS ones are fake??

We all know counterfeits exist but blanket statements like yours aren't accurate either.
