Long braking distance issue?
2012 335i RWD stock brakes
I don't know if this is normal on these cars or not... My brake pedal does seem a tad mushy as it takes half travel before the car even feels like it's braking and takes over 3/4 of a block to come to a stop from 40mph... Even if I stomp on the pedal it takes like a second to full stop from 5mph... Could this be air in the system since the dealer recently did my brakes and has been feeling like that since? |

And nope car doesn't pull at all I hate this cause it makes me really tired for no reason just from using extra force to brake... |

I did brakes on my father in laws F150 with only 26k miles on it, went for a drive and the pedal felt mushy. Took the wheels off and went to bleed the brakes just to rule out air in the system (even though i didn't change any caliper/lines) and realized one of the calipers froze up. I didn't do anything differently then i normally would have, the part just happened to fail after doing the brakes. |

I agree. Take back with that complaint. Was it the dealer or an Indy? Also check brake fluid level (should have warning if low). When was fluid changed last?

Hmm... seems she probably needs brake bleeding. Do you know how old the fluid is as may as well change that up 'while you're in there'.

Don’t know all of the details but the pad material could have been changed. This would change the bite characteristics. OE pads or aftermarket?

Iirc brake fluid change should involve a specific process with ISTA that involves ABS pump to bleed, however some shops do without and i believe the result is that feeling;
happened to me too but in the end it was more a question of getting used to a different feel than anything else as actual braking force was unchanged. If you're not confident, i'd go to a bmw approved shop for service and talk to them about that, and have it done again.

I'll check the fluid out when I get back..
It's more of a feeling if it not having instant bite power ... and takes a while to stop like you feel it slowing down but it takes its sweet time I drove my buddies civic and that shit is instant stop on a tap of the pedal ... I'm like damn shit stops faster than my 300hp car where is the safety lol |
