I recently saw a thread regarding the updated BM3 8 speed trans tune (unfortunately I can't find the same thread). Long story short, I have been running stage 2 flash with stock trans configuration, and I recently reflashed so I could run the new trans tune. I have been receiving this error quite frequently since then, and I am curious if anyone else is having the issue. It will come on every single complete stop on cool days or after only 2 mins of driving on warmer days. I can't make sense of any pattern as to when it happens and I'm hoping its not going to damage anything

Try reflashing. I had a drivetrain malfunction after my first drive when I first flashed my transmission - I pulled over turned off the car and turned it back on and no issue since.
