Manual USB Map Update 2019-2 validation error

there's a lot of noise around the manual USB Map Update (2019-2) failing the validation on BMW download manager. BMW Australia have not been able to help other users who have reached out to them. (whirlpool forum)

I had the same issue when the program was validating and it failed. thought I'd share my 2 cents here.

My understanding is that it actually downloads the whole map .zip file in your user / bmw / dl folder (Windows). it's just the verification failing on the BMW download manager screen.

in the past I have copied the file directly from this location onto the USB and it installs just fine on the car, as there was another error popping on a while ago.

I am going to give this a shot and will provide an update if it worked.

p.s. this is for users who have the manual USB update already paid for!

I managed to get it downloaded and validated by using a Mac running Mojave 10.14.6

My windows machines had the validation issue.

damn, not again. I should've bought my Mrs a Mac instead. cheers guys, will try my workaround if not get someone's MacBook to get this done.

tried again, same issue. it's not letting me copy the downloaded file as well. mac is the way I guess.

Which browser do you use?

I can recall years ago I had trouble with IE and only use Chrome for this now.

Download Manager is only showing version 2019 1 for me? I've gto a 2018 340i, so not sure why it wouldn't be seeing the most recent version. Am I missing something?

that's weird. 2019-2 is definitely out. I own a 17 440i, do for 2018 it should be present. just confirming, you are subscribed for free usb map updates?

download manager is a software installed on the computer. if you are asking which browser I installed it from, it was MS edge, definitely not IE. I will try downloading the program via chrome again, but not sure if that would change things.

unless there is way to directly download the map file from a webpage.

Yep certainly do. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Downlod Manager, but still only showing 2019-1.... it’s driving me nuts!

hmmm.. you might have to call BMW Australia to find out wth is going on. I am gonna find a mate's mac to try again.

Which NEXT version is your car equipped with?

NBT or NBT Evo ?

If you eligible for the maps via connected drive just go to your dealership and they will do the upload for you. I had mine updated last week at the dealer and they stated it comes under warranty as I am eligible for the maps. It took 7 mins to be done.

Check with your local dealer if having trouble downloading via connected drive portal.
