Foxwell NT510 vs. NT530

Hi everyone,

Could someone please help me out with the differences between these 2?

I'm debating to buy one and originally my plan was to get the 510 as everyone here uses that. But their website now says that the 510 is no longer made and they ship the 520 in lue, but now they also state that you need the 530 for the F chassis. So I'm little puzzled on which one do I actually need? Any differences you guys know of?

TIA

I have the 510 and there are videos on YouTube all about the scanners. Might get more info from watching them.

No issues with the scanner I have.

I have the 510, F34, works fine. It doesn't read the VIN, I have to enter the chassis manually, from what I understand this is common, and it's no big deal. Worth looking at:

I have the NT510. Works great for my E90 but it does not have all the functionality for my F36. If I was buying one today, I will go for the latest version.

When foxwell releases a new scanner they are providing a hardware upgrade. The software updates are the same file for the 510, 520 and 530. If your 510 is lacking functionality then update your software. If you're still lacking a function then foxwell hasn't provided that yet and it may come in a future software update.

I have NT510. After 2 replacements, this unit finally works well. No trouble scanning F36 and F15.

The micro SD card tray is very fragile. Care must be exercised when inserting the micro SD card.

Thank you, figured the nt510 doesn't support some options anymore or something along those lines. I guess I'll go with the 530

Sorry to revive this but foxwell support isn't getting back to me lol

I see that the NT530 has EPB functions but no where can I find that it would let me service the back brakes by retracting the EPB?

Any of you fine chaps even with a 510 know if it's capable of doing that?

Cheers

i just bought an Autophix 7910 for BMW. it's kind of a Foxwell knockoff but cheaper. not sure if it has the functions you want. I tested it out, just to see if it works, but have not used it in the sense of fixing something. i.e, battery registration, diagnosing, clearing codes, etc. seems pretty good, though.

Yea I've seen that one around as well, but couldn't find to many reviews. Foxwell has been mentioned a lot around here so I'm going with that one. Well if they ever get back to me to confirm it can service the EPB.

They have a sale on now as well so 159usd is pretty good deal.

Just need to know if it can retract the rear EPB ughhh before the sale is over lol

The 510 will, I can't see why the 530 wouldn't.

Worst case you can retract the electric parking brake manually. Google it, including the tag 'BMW', and you'll find youtube videos showing how.

I checked that out already and want to avoid going that route lol. Seems like a proper pita.

I'm about 90% confident that the NT530 can do that. Especially knowing the 510 can... it's just painful that Foxwell isn't confirming it with a quick email. Thank you for your time

Foxwell customer service sucks, but with some searching you can find what you need to know. http://www.foxwellsupport.com/foxwel...function-list/

I've seen that thread but couldn't understand what falls under "special function list"

Since you said the NT510 can do it. I'm going on a whim that the 530 can as well.

Thank you for the help!

Loom and Leaf Mattress https://bestmattressesreviews.org/lo...tress-reviews/ is one of the consumers favorite when it comes to bed. One reason is that Loom and Leaf mattress is one of the only few online, direct-to-consumer memory foam mattresses that is not compressed and shipped in a box.
