Ensuring BMW 405M Wheels are OEM
Hi guys,
I was looking to purchase some 405M wheels from someone on eBay and wanted to know how I can ensure these are OEM or replicas. I have attached pictures of the part number (which seems to check out) but I wanted to know if there were any other things I can look out for to make sure these are OEM. The price for these are really good and I feel like it's a too good to be true kind of thing so I'm skeptical. Please advise, thanks! |

I can confirm the real wheels have the stamps in barrels, and not behind the spokes, also they are made in Taiwan. Unfortunately that all can be replicated and no way to know for sure unless you put them side by side with a known legit wheel

Weight. Real ones are forged, reps are not, so there will be a big weight difference. Would be cool if someone with oem ones could weight them for reference.

I’ll try to take a look at mine this weekend and see if they match your etchings.
