Project Mineral Grey

Hello all,

It's time to start a build thread so that I can document the journey!

September 2019 I decide to pull the trigger on a 2013 335i

All opinions good & bad welcome

First mod, take it to Wrapstarz London (IG: WrapstarzLdn) for a gloss black roof wrap, inc rails.

Nice updates, it'd probably be better to do this as one post?

Great choice the 340i - you're going to love it!

I got the tips from SSDD Motorsports ebay page:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183998590...m=183998590452

The left tips comes off pretty easily with a couple whacks with the rubber mallet. The right one was caked on so needed to hit it with some WD40.

Car's looking really good!
I like the touch on the diffuser as well, not too in your face but a subtle touch just to make it look a bit more sporty

LED indicators on the list.

I've used brighter whiter halogen fog light bulbs to keep the soft on/off cornering light function.

I had some 50W turn indicators from HorizonLED, worked a treat with the coding.

Must say the front end of the car with xenon angel eyes + mineral grey, what a great combo, had the same on my F31. I didn't really like the LCI LED angel eyes. IMHO still looks better than the G20, I'm not so over the moon with the design.

Cheers will check out Horizon!

To be honest i wasn't too fussed about colour when i bought this. Spec & service history was how i shortlisted, but the colour has grown on me massively since.

Agreed re LCI headlights, they are so bright you lose all the detail. That's one retrofit I won't be doing. The LCI rears though, massive improvement.

I like the G20 shape but I can't get past the awful DRLs. The facelift will fix it no doubt. I notice BMW have followed this pattern since the e46. So predictable!

Obviously in the eye of the beholder but it is imo such a fab' colour. Always used to go black but feel a tad too old now, especially with the rear tinted windows - the black (with piano grilles) F3Xs just look too rUdEboy for my current old man tastes. Silver is a bit too bright and bling, and too close to the shockingly generic white, mineral grey seems to be the elegant in between.

Champagne quartz is lovely but so rare, and the stealers throw a monstrous mark up on them!

Ooo just googled Champagne quartz - it's lovely. Don't think i've ever seen one in real life.

Before i got this, I was set on a silver one, but the silly owner missed an oil service last year. Rendering the car ineligible for extended warranty. Cheaped out on a £100 service only for the car to drop in value by a few thousand. Idiot!

How are you keeping yours clean? Any particular products that work well with mineral grey?
