A few more pics. The Sprint bike carrier is awesome because it's length is adjustable. It's very aerodynamic (notice the cone shape) and has a superb fork holding ratchet mechanism that clicks automatically when the correct amount of clamping pressure has been applied. Also, no adapters are needed to mount it to the factory cross bars.

I know this thread is old. I found it and took the plunge for a rack on my 14 F30 335i M.

I used factory cross bars, INNO fairing, and a Thule 599XTR. I think it came out okay. Forgive the iPhone photos.

What mods you did to install the fairing?

No mods, I simply ordered the "medium" sized Inno fairing and slapped it on. It worked perfectly.

Garage List
F31 OE Roof Bars

These are only for carrying roof loads, not my 'bikes. I'm a fan of tow hitch carriers but, with the Touring I can fit the cycles inside. Trouble with BMW OE is the cost of the Tow Hitch plus carrier is exorbitant.

Mine is VERY quiet with fairing. Without maybe a 50% increase in wind noise.

I need to add a fairing to quiet them down. At this point i would say pretty loud!

did you look at the next size up for the fairing? yours looks great don't get me wrong but wonder if the "large" would fit as well.

IMO, You the fairing is a MUST if you go with the factory crossbars.

Curious about this. I was thinking Yakima Whispbars WITHOUT fairing, but after the bike attachments, won't that just disrupt the aerodynamics and noise reduction? I really wanna go without the fairing.

I did, but the Medium fit better to me. I bought both from Amazon and just returned the one I didn't use. The Large was simply too long for my tastes.

In use this weekend.

Similarly, even with just the left and ride sight clamped down I cannot get the right side to sit cleanly on the roof of the car.

Advice is very much appreciate it!

Thanks

This is what I've had on my e46 and on my e90 and I hope it fits on my f30..

It works well for snowboards and I have 2 bike mounts for it.

The wind noise sucks with out the faring. With it it's not bad as long as you close the sunroof.
