Does anyone know what this sound could be. My car is a 2015 435i.
https://youtube.com/shorts/OTkXoBrqui0?feature=share No lights on dash and car runs fine. This noise happens when I have a boost leak |

Idler pully/tensioner is right there. Tensioner doesn't seem to be moving around too much (hard to tell because cameras is moving), but it could be looseness in the idler?

I would think that but it comes and goes when I have a boost leak. I just did a log and I can confirm my leak is back. So I'll going to fix it and I'll up this post if it's gone.

Bloom_435i Can you take a better, more stable, video of the belt tensioner. Ideally with some additional light. Just to rule out the area. Also take a stable video from the turbo side as well as the intake side of the engine.
If the leak is related to the boost leak you could have something a piece of the charge air piping that has broken off and made its way into the intake. I recommend not running the car more than you have to until a thorough inspection can be completed. |
