Sliding arm rest conversion

I am picking up a 2015 435i xdrive performance edition this week.

It is replacing a 2015 M235i xdrive performance edition written off after being t-boned

So I was very surprised that the armrest does not slide like in my M235 or some of the 2017 and 2018s I drove recently.

Just wondering if many people have changed out there armrest for the sliding model and who has the best price on the parts?

The 2014 335i doesn’t slide either...rather annoying.

Yup very uncomfortable on long drives. Just the very tip of my elbow rests on the edge.

A dealer in Toronto quoted me $450 for the two parts, 1 new armrest assemble and a cover plate.

From what I can gather so far sounds like it may have been an option depending on country of sale in 14 - 15 and standard on the 16s and forward.

I always had it moved forward in my M235, very comfy for resting on while holding onto to the wheel at the 3 and 4 o'clock positions

I replaced with this as was doing the rest of the interior https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...im-51162405915 and I would search the classifieds. What colour is your interior?

No problem. It's fine. I bought some cleaner and a boars hair brush. Still looks brand new around 9 months in.

Brian Keller at Sun BMW does some great deals (in PA) definitely worth a call.

I have a black leather and Venetian beige leather sliding unit used from my rebuilds.

Message me if interested.

Unfortunately shipping to Canada is essentially 2x to 3x from USA to Canada as it is within the USA.

It’s fixed. But App Store has to approve app update that should happen tomorrow or Thursday.

Then you should update app.

Is that your interior, looks sharp. I'm jealous of the steering wheel trim and accompanied armrest + shifter trim.

Mine does not slide either. Never really thought about that as it hasn't bothered me. Heck, the dual climate control doesn't have a sync mode the arm rest is the least of my gripes. Still love the car though!

Thanks. The steering wheel trim was a Christmas gift... via ecstuning.... finishes the look scary removing the airbag though!

Yeah I hear you I had my buddy do it for me when I swapped my steering wheel. God help me should it go off while I'm playing with it.

I had thought about vinyling mine in a dry carbon 3m to match. It would be substantially cheaper.

Like a nut case I've spent over $1000 gathering parts for this LCI tail conversion so I think my money's spent for this summer on updates
