If y'all turn off ASD, that was the majority of inside cabin noise and drone for me.

I never perceived or recognised the effect of ASD in my car, but I turned it off anyway the moment I could! The lamest thing in a BMW.
It was very pronounced and very fake-sounding in a 428i I test-drove. That's how I learned about the existence of such a system - it was that obvious.

Whether it affects warranty is a bigger topic - it could be claimed that coding in general affects warranty as this is a maintenance- and not a user- task. But in reality, especially for ASD, since it is a stand-alone system.... that's only hypothetical.
