Parking with Steering left on Full Lock
More of a general car question really. If I park in front of my lounge window I need to steer full lock and then I normally leave steering in that position whilst parked. Then when I reverse out of my drive the steering is already in the correct full lock position, this prevents me having to dry steer with car stationary (bad for tyres, steering and my tarmac drive).
However does leaving my car steering like this cause any issues for the car eg steering geometry, steering pump etc ? Tried Google but no definitive answer. |

The only thing I can think of would be the stretching of the drive shaft gators, but if it's RWD then there won't be any on the front.

If it was an issue there would be warnings in the manual and when leaving it via iDrive etc int be modern litigation world.
Definitely better (bad word choice) things to worry about in life. Sounds like you're parking up just fine to me

I’m not a mechanic but I don’t think it should be a problem with electric power steering. I remember back when cars had hydraulic power steering it was supposed to be bad for the pump when you first started the car.
