Hi guys,
Finally got my first bmw 320i 26k miles with an m performance body kit in individual Grigio Telesto grey paint. Super excited about it after driving Ford Focus 1.6 diesel for 6 years. I just have a few questions. It's a saloon, does it means it's E30? It needs some nee wipers and I live in the uk. Can someone recommend decent ones please? Also, can someone recommend a good reader. I've seen a few post about it on here. Anything else I should do straight away? |

No, it's an F30. Nice color! Never seen one. Re wipers, I find they're all similar just as long as you get the beam style. Easy to find Bosch over there I would think. Enjoy

Yeah I love the colour too. Don't think I've seen any 3 series in that.

Beam style just means the appearance of the wiper, they are one piece straight 'beam' as opposed to the older style ones that look more like a truss, or framed system. Beam style... As others have said, very striking color. Welcome aboard!

Wow what a color 😮
They never brought 320 like this to USA, with M Spot Pack like that. Your car is beautiful. About the wipers, I got the Valeo brand. I saw good reviews and it was no problem to install. Congratulations on your nice 320... enjoy! |

This is individual Grigio Telesto done by bmw, it is usually used on m3/m4/m5 as far as I am aware. Not sure how this guy managed to get it as when you try to build a brand new one. This is not an option. It also has m performance exhaust, which sounds incredible.
So happy to have joined the club! Do you guys recommend servicing at bmw or at a local trusted garage? |

Nice colour. Glad you went with the i and not the d. I just buy Bosch off Amazon/ebay or just google it. They usually have a product number for each blade and I think Bosch do a combo kit for the front on the F30/F31 (A930S) or you might find the individual blades cheaper (sizes mentioned in a previous post). If by reader, you mean code reader? I've got a bluetooth OBD reader (Veepeak OBDCheck BLE OBD2 Bluetooth) and the BimmerLink and BimmerCode apps on iOS.

Thank you, found the reader on Amazon for £34. Do I need any adaptors. What exactly is it used for? Checking for faults etc? Isn't onboard computer going to tell me if there is anything wrong? |

BimmerLink is for reading/clearing error codes (you don’t need this unless you want to do your own maintenance, repairs etc) and there is a one off cost for the app which is not cheap. BimmerCode is for coding (basically changing settings that are not normally available to car owners). You don’t NEED this either, but depends if you like messing with stuff. Google it and/or read about it here before jumping in and spending any money.
The Bosch wiper set are on offer on Amazon right now by the way (£18.85 decent price), they popped up on my Amazon page just now funnily enough (Amazon probably know everything I’m doing). Last edited by wrongmark; 04-15-2021 at 12:52 AM.. |

I use the Veepeak reader, with BimmerCode. Works great, and fun to mess with options and settings if you like doing that. Will allow you to enable features on your car that it wasn't capable of before. Check around the forum, lots of good info on that...
BimmerLink, in theory, is also very useful in checking your car's health...except, I cannot get it to connect, so I don't know that I recommend it. BimmerCode connects just fine, but as of right now, BimmerLink was a waste of the $30 or so. I use a Foxwell NT510 Elite standalone reader for that purpose now. More expensive, but reliable and gets the job done.
