GAS monoballs for both RWD and xDrive

I just noticed German Auto Solutions now offers upper control arm monoball bushings for both RWD and xDrive, standalone or pre-installed into new Lemforder arms. They're almost half the price of the VAC units. Anyone tried them out yet?

Please remember that monoball bushings are not commodity items. They are “not all the same”. And they aren’t “all made at the same factory in China”, some of the common things that we are all used to people automatically saying about parts.

I often read very different reviews about different brands of monoballs because their engineering is different. VAC Motorsports is a high level engineering, design, manufacturer of race quality BMW parts which they have been doing for decades at their HQ in Philadelphia. Many VAC products have begun as one-off fabrication & testing for a race client. If it has widespread application they continue the development process and create a high level VAC product.

Several years ago I was lucky enough to watch my VAC monoball bushings being made on one of their $750k CNC’s. Since then I’ve doubled the horsepower of my car. No worries because my VAC Monoball control arms are designed and built to handle much more.

The GAS monoballs are made in the US and well reviewed on other forums:

Is GAS a name or is the bushing filled with actual gas? I'm guessing GAS is a name or acronym as I'm not sure a gas filled bushing would last all that long.

GAS = German Auto Solutions

The look like a solid company (pun intended ): https://germanautosolutions.com/germ...olutions-news/

The price difference with VAC is less than what I thought earlier (VAC's website shows Canadian $ for me automatically). The upper arms are US$472.95 vs $629.95 for VAC.

I noticed the GAS units have 5 fasteners vs 3 for VAC, not sure if that matters in any way?

More is always better

What kind of lifespan do folk get out of these balls? Are they suitable for a 20-25K a year commuting car?
