I'm about to start upgrading mine. This'll be one of my first big upgrades. Would anyone mind checking I have the correct parts. As I managed to score m performance calipers for for a good price.

Car is BMW F31 RWD, last 7 vin digit: A829315
At the moment it has the bone stock brakes (not m sport)

Calipers 370mm front, 345mm rear
bought matching disk and pads
Brake sensors
By the looks of it all I need to get a front brake shields.

Is there anything I need to be aware of before I start?
I saw something about larger rear hubs a while back but can't seem to find anything else on it.

Double check but I think you need discs to suit the smaller 160mm handbrake I think your car has and not the 180mm that the F30 chassis cars fitted with the 345mm rotors come with. I think it's an M140 part.

Thanks, that was exactly what i was looking for.
thankfully, i've managed to check on RealOEM and seems mine only would have came with the 180mm part, which is great as i've already bought the part.

Well that's handy, it should make everything very simple. Before you fit everything I'd be inclined to put new seals in the calipers as it's a lot less faff than doing later and pretty cheap to do.

Having done this upgrade about a year ago, I highly recommend it, especially if coming from the basic brakes. Huge difference in brake feel and stopping power, especially at high speeds. Needed the larger front dust shields, but rears were fine. Bought the calipers used but in great shape, and got brand new pads, rotors, clips, pins, lines, fluid etc. Indy mechanic installed and coded. Best upgrade so far

I believe that the rear dust shield started being larger with the LCI cars. The fronts were always sized to the rotor.

I second this review. Going from 75k on basic brakes to the M-Perf kit has been worth every penny. I upgraded both front and rear shields.
