Just saying that silver cars are very easy to keep clean

What I really rate is Autoglym's Rapid Ceramic Spray; that lasts really well; a good product to put on top of a polished car

Quick wash yesterday before it lashed it down...

Will give it a dry off and coating with AGs Rapid Ceramic Spray this afternoon

Some may remember I got a lot of stick, Tiffany Blue pin stripe accents, holographic headlight and tail light tints. All that is gone now, recently got my wheels refurbed and powder coated, and recently done a photoshoot.

Much better , I’m linking direct from my iPhone so not sure how to do a complete blank but I’m sure it can be done

If it’s dry tomorrow I’m going custom headlight eyebrows ( hate all the chrome on the top) got a set of CSL. Style yellow DRL to play with and see if I like them.
Rear light tint , then at some point maybe fit an induction kit

Hello all, new F31 owner here. Picked it up NYE.
2015 320d M Sport.
Bodywork mint, refurbd wheels. Interior needs a detailed clean and hopefully get to that next weekend. Usual sticky white scummy stuff in steering wheel stitching and around buttons. Leather could do with freshen up too. I think the previous owner of 9 years had a fair amount of jewelry due to scuffs on inside door handle and start stop button!
The 8spd ZF box is glorious. It just knows what you want it to do, holding the gear when you want.
Had a 1993 730i many years ago, but sold when fuel hit over £1/litre. It was white, with a spoiler!!
Following a Mondeo, 350Z and Mazda3, I'm now rightfully back with a beemer.
Great forum, cheers.

That looks great; welcome on board

I do like a silver F31, I am biased

I'd highly recommend dropping to 18s for a comfier ride and better handling, if you're not keen on the 19" 403Ms you have fitted

However, they do look much better in silver than the usual gloss black you see them in (as they were on our F31, which is why I binned them the day I collected it)

Thanks! Yes does look nice in silver with silver wheels, although there's a pic of a burgundy red car in here which looks very tasty indeed.

The ride is firm, but not harsh, with the 19" but would definately prefer 18" max as I'm into my 40s now... I went with them as they have the proper Bridgestones that look very recently fitted. If I had to replace tyres soon at about £220 each I would not have been so keen.

Just got the bimmerlink app working and I'm checking on things like the dpf regen stats. Average interval is 340km (not sure if that's since new, or the last x regens) which seems ok. Made a funny smell in the cabin on my first proper drive (slight concern I'd bought a lemon!) and the subsequent bimmerlink stats tell me that would have been a regen going on.

Will pull out the MAP sensor soon and check for carbon, and try and get an endoscope camera in there too.

Cheers

I'm not a a fan of RFTs so that' why I binned the 403Ms as they had Bridgestones on (found them to be terrible and they were only 6months old)

Just on the test drives and the drive home after collection I knew they had to go

I dropped to 18" 400Ms with winter tyres (it was Jan 2023 when I collected it), and they did our trip up to the Highlands well

When we got back I moved them on and bought a set of 18" 405Ms in satin black; shod them with Goodyear Assym6s in 235/45/18 sizes and never looked back

We also run a set of Style 397s in satin black with Goodyear Vector Gen3 all season tyres for the winter wheels set; they were spot on in the Highlands earlier this year; coped with the cold & snow very well and they've played a blinder today in the heavy snow we've had in Lancashire

Day I collected it:

On the 400Ms with winter tyres:

When I first fitted the 405Ms:

How they look now:

And on it's winter 397s:

Nice, I do like the look of the 405Ms you have there in dark grey. Very tasty. Tempted to go to the 18s... but need to drive the car more and see what's what.

Thanks - they were redone in BMW Ferric Grey; it's a superb colour

And yes; 18s IMO suit the UK roads well. They're perfect for us here in Lancashire; the country roads/single track lanes that surround us will kill bigger wheels/thin tyres in no time...

Plus 18" tyres are cheaper and generally a better selection too!

The 397s (the satin black winter wheels) are readily available on eBay and cheap too; plus they're a doddle to keep clean
