540i fitment question

BMW G30 M SPORT 2017 540I
86428 wheels off an M850i
Rear 20x9 et41
Front 20x8 et26

255/35 285/30 too wide?

H and R springs make a difference if wanting to lower eventually?

255 is too wide for 8" and 285 is too wide for 9".

if you want to try and overpinch a wide tire with low profile sidewall, that's your choice.

on 20", min rim widths are 8" & 9" for 245 & 275, respectively and the most pinch i'd do. imo the best tire performance fit is 235 & 255(or265)

filling the wheel well depends on the overall tire diameter, not rim diameter.

if you want to fill the wheel well with your 19", upgrade the tire width 10mm(max 20mm), with the same aspect ratio.

So go up to 275 40 and 245 45 from 275 35 245 40? How do I know of 285 40 and 255 45 fit.

No...

What are the 19" tire sizes? And their rim width and offset?
