f10 m5 EU5 injectors in a EU6 N55

What's needed to do this, if at all possible? I see BM3 has a EU5 M5 injector option, but I know my car is EU6.

Can I still use these injectors?

Coding?

Just hit the checkbox in bm3 and it's good to go with an OTS map?

There have been a few threads/posts on this, but the posts might actually be buried in threads that are not specifically about injectors. Based on what i have seen yes it can be done and those hitting the injector limit on a PI setup with stage 3/lift kit HPFP are using them. I think one thread IIRC was in the F87 forums? -Eidos or AmuroRay might know

Based on my very limited knowledge and what i saw in MHD app on this, it sounded like you needed to code them in first, then check the flash option box for the tune to account for them.

Any idea how to code an UE6 car for an EU5 injector?

ISTA or any software that allows for programming of individual injector flow values. Once all six injectors are coded in with their specific values, you should reset adaptations.

Here's a video:

EU6 injectors require no coding, and I feel like ISTA is smart enough to stop you from trying to code a flow rate for an EU5, to an EU6 car.

I hooked up my Maxisys ultra, which shows I need EU6 injectors, but also lets me enter the injector coding menu, so I'm still lost on what to do. I don't want to waste 600 bucks

I'm aware that EU6 cars require no coding. I was the first to run EU5 S63TU injectors on a N55 M2 for many miles before switching to the Nostrum Stage 2 injectors. Many others are also running EU5 injectors on EU6 cars.

ISTA allows you to program the individual flow rate even on an EU6 car. The Maxisys ultra should allow it as well. This is why to run the EU5s properly you need to have the proper coding AND tune.

I recently researched this subject and here are some things to be aware of:

1) EU5 and EU6 are names of European emissions standards. So there are many injectors for many cars that have these terms in their description. Use the correct part number to find the correct part.

2) BMW used N55 EU5 injectors in the N55 until about 2013-2014, then began using N55 EU6 injectors. Neither of these are the high flow EU5 injectors that are being discussed.

I saw a reference in realoem that BMW cutover from N55 EU5 to N55 EU6 injectors with the July 2013 build dates, but don’t assume that is true for your car. The proper way to check is to connect to the car and run a routine within ISTA.

Both the N55 EU5 and N55 EU6 injectors have about the same flow and will support an N55 up to about 600hp. Before someone says that their car needs higher flow injectors, they better be planning other mods to support 600+ hp.

For example an N55 EWG with a Pure500 turbo upgrade can run a Stage2+ tune with full E85 in the tank, and its stock N55 EU6 injectors will be more than enough. No need for an injector upgrade.

UPDATE (Feb2024):
While the statement above is technically true, that is because the OTS tune is written with the stock N55 EWG turbo in mind so the boost is limited by that. But the Pure500 has a higher boost capacity. So if a tune was customized for the Pure500 running full E85 in the tank, the stock N55 injectors may max out at roughly 520whp on E85. That number can vary based on tune, etc. So if that is the intention it would be a good idea to upgrade to the higher flow Bosch injectors from the S63 engine. Also it would be important to upgrade the pre-throttle MAP sensor from 2.5bar to 3.5bar. Otherwise when boost spikes up towards 21/22psi it will just plateau and offer no accuracy. VDO 3.5bar sensor is <$100.

Bosch kits with 6 injectors & 6 decoupling elements. Prices from FCP Euro.
N55 EU5 13647597870KT ~$621
N55 EU6 13648625397KT ~$565

Also may or may not be included in kits is injector seal part# 13537591006

3) The highest flow Bosch injectors are the M5 S63 EU5 injectors. According to Dorch they support 715whp to 800whp on E85, up to 900whp on E10 gasoline and up to 1000whp on E0 gasoline.

Dorch sells a kit with 6 injectors and 6 decoupling elements (rather than 8) for $699. Part# DE-S63EU5-PKG

FCP Euro sells a Bosch kit part# 0261500136KT for $792

Hope this helps!

anybody use injector coding as a hack to add a bit more fuel to cylinders experiencing knock (as seen by timing corrections)?

My solutions to an abundance of timing corrections due to bad gasoline has been to run a 91 octane tune but put 92/93 octane in the tank, OR add 1-2 gallons of E85 per tankful of gasoline

Hi guys,

If I’m looking at the rockauto website for my 2014 335xi msport fuel injectors and found these Bosch ones that apparently say they fit my vehicle.

I’m attaching pics.

They are bosch 62825
: OEM / Interchange Numbers: 13647639994OEM / Interchange Numbers: 13647639994

Please help!

Wondering if I’ll need to recode them or not because few techs have said they’d be ok and few have said I’ll need the eu6 ones
