OEM 437M On M3 Tires 275/35/19 - Update on 3/14/17 - 245/35 & 265/35.
I want to start off by saying.. pictures don't do this wheel justice... They look so much better in person...
Some house keeping.. I'm gonna post a lot of photos... please, please don't quote the original post & copy all these photos again, if you want to reference 1-2 photos that's fine Now that i got my biggest pet peeve out of the way.. There have been a few on this forum that have installed OEM 437M's and some that have installed aftermarket 437M's (believe the specs & offsets are slightly different). Of the ones that installed the OEM 437M's, i could find anyone that was on stock suspension. Everyone that was lowered, rubbed on the stock tires. Well, i'm happy to report that if your on stock suspension, it will work... I don't rub at all & believe me when i say i've tried to get it too... Here are the specs: I was on 403M 225/40/19x8 +36 & 255/35/19x8.5 +47 My new setup: OEM 437M 255/35/19x9 +29 & 275/35/19x10 +40 I was never, ever a black wheel fan... however, will all the M Performance accents I have been adding to the car.. i must say I am now... Love to get your guys feedback.. I can't make up my mind if i want to put my stock tires on these RIMs to reduce the poke from a few angles. There is one angle that doesn't look awesome.. should that one angle make me put on my old tires??? you help me be the judge Look before the new wheels to put this change in perspective: Front tire - love the concave.. almost as concave as the rear tire Rear tire had to sneak in my Dinan exhaust...Sounds awesome btw some poke This is the angle that i'm really on the fence about... it's the only angle but i dont know if i like it... Rear looks awesome Conclusion.. Yes, you can run a 275/35/19 in the rear with no rub.. That rim/tire is HUGE... With these sizes, i won't be able to lower the car anymore... Another drawback. If i need to change tires, i want to know before i put my 403M's up for sale.. they only have 3,000 miles on them & i just paid $1600 for those d@mn tires... so i'm fine reusing them & selling the M3 tires separately. The also only have like 5K on them & these are the highly sought after Michelin Pilot Sports on a crazy long back order so the M3/M4 guys would be all over those tires. Feel free to speak your mind, i have thick skin... Last edited by steelerfan; 03-14-2017 at 10:07 PM.. |

Looks nice but I agree that one angle, the front sticks out too much...

It looks good. Glad it worked out for you. You are right pics doesnt do justice. It does poke out too much for my taste. I just need to see one in real life cause Im still on the fence to get a set of 437 or not.

I've wondered how much material could be machined safely of the hub side of those rims to get your offsets more acceptable.
I love the look but hate the poke. I tried my brothers M4 wheels on our F32 but again, it was too much poke for me. |

I've never done it, so maybe i'm afraid of what I don't know, but I feel like thats the most important part of the wheel, where it connects to the car, I'd be very hesitant to mill off thickness from it

Yeah, I had a similar look with the F80/82 640M winter wheel setup on my F30. Those were 18x8.5 (F) and 18x9 (R) with et27 and et29 offsets. The rears tucked under the fenders, but the front looked dumb.
Fitment is just not quite there, unfortunately. The other problem I was concerned with due to the wheel poke was rock chips on the doors and the area behind the rear wheels. Worse in the winter, but also a worry in the summer with sticky summer tires. |

Depending on the wheel structure, it can be done and done safely with the right tools.

The rears never rubbed even on lowered cars because they slightly camber in when lowered. Can't say the same for the front. Most people decrease tire width to a 235.

Thanks Nick.... Looks awesome man... Could you please take a pick from this angle before I invest I new tires
Also, not sure if you back into every spot like I do but the 275/35 stick out so when I lower the driver side mirror to see the curb, that is when I notice the rear tire the most. |

Hello Steelerfan, just wondering if you're sitting on factory suspension or if you've installed any aftermarket springs or BMW factory performance springs?

with 10mm only being a .40 of an inch.. i'm not even close to rubbing & trust me when I say I've been trying to make my car rub... .. not always on purpose. The only thing that rubs on my car is the M performance front aero lip & it did that before the rims/tires, so i do already take things at a angle to avoid that when i can.
