My New F82 M4 Competition Pack

After an eager wait, the day finally came where I could pick up the new M4 Competition Pack. The drive to the dealership was nerve wracking and I was full of butterflies being my first new car let alone a new M car!

As we approached the dealership I could not stop looking into the dealership to catch a glimpse of the car but just couldn't see the car with the layout of the garage. Soon as I walked through the doors we were warmly greated by the salesman and taken to the car to take a walk around where the grinning started. After the quick walk around, we completed all the paperwork where the car kept distracting me whilst making the grin bigger and bigger.

As soon as the paperwork was done we ran back to the delivery bay where we could turn the car on and hearing the car roar for the first time felt incredible whilst building the excitement to drive the car. First came the sensible drive home, however, I was incredibly surprised by the amount of heads turning on this short journey. This is when I realised, it must be due to the ceramic coating, I had done on the car prior to taking delivery as wanted to protect car from day 1 rather than driving it anywhere else.

Even while at home, I could not stop staring at the car through the windows and admiring the beauty. This then resulted in me getting back behind the wheel to continue driving and getting used to the car. As some friends knew I was getting the car, they were anxious to see it so I decided to familiarise myself with it and drive it to them. They saw the car and couldn't believe the impact of the ceramic and the look of the car being incredibly stealth with one describing it as understated with minimal M badging around the car with the exhaust doing all the talking, this really made me fall in love with the car today!

Later on in the day, I returned to the car but this time as a passenger as brother wanted to experience the car and is evaluating whether to sell his e36 M3 Evo Individual edition (Imola red 1 of 50 in RHD worldwide), so we drove to our nearest Aston Martin dealership as that has been his aspirational car.

On this journey is where I quickly realised how great BMW engineering is and despite have c444 bhp in the car it was a nice comfortbale ride meaning it can be used as a daily. Coming from a F30 328i into this M4, the ride felt smoother due to the smooth gear changes which overcame the firmer ride due to the M suspension settings. The power delivery was also very smooth, so much so that it is very hard to get a correct estimation of the speed without looking down slightly at the magnificant heads-up display. This smooth power delivery also emphasises the fact that the new M cars can be very comfortable while still having the power on tap resulting in a very enjoyable daily car.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and very excited to use the car as my new daily!!!
