I have -1.4 right now from my last alignment for the rears. -.8 in fronts. Damn im nervous now. Because I want those tire specs to fit without any concerns. But overall you're happy with them? Or would you change something?

Personally, I think 235/40 and 265/35 is the best staggered setup for xDrive but I couldn't find a good budget summer in those sizes. Namely the Hankooks or Firestones

Have you look at the new Hankook ventus s1 evo3. My friend just got them on his Audi. I can't find any reviews yet. Hankook global website said it just came out this year 2019. I'm gonna try it out when my tires wear out.

I looked at the photos you linked and you are running the same wheels I'm looking at for my F31. Would you mind posting a link to a closer up of your wheels/tires and the gap you have?
Thanks, Danny Quote:

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=290 I purchased a set of Eibach springs that will hopefully solve that issue.... maybe... Just installing the front springs along with Millway Camber plates early Saturday morning since the high for the day will be 100. Hopefully it will drop the front back down half an inch.

lol geez. first time seeing a 50+ ratio tire on an F30. looks like you could jump potholes with those.

I run 245/35/19 F (up front 225/40/19 stock) and 255/35/19 R on OEM 442s and that got rid of some understeer but it still does so at the limit. |

tl;dr your tire should be 0.5" narrower than your wheel width for optimum performance "meaty tires" just spoil the responsiveness This article is written by an actual race car driver. |

I don't know how you got that "tl;dr" from “For ideal handling: when sizing a tire for a given wheel, I usually target a tire’s TREAD width to be as wide as the WHEEL width, or 0.5” narrower than the wheel width.” you're only taking half the quote for context..

So you want a tire that is 0.5" narrower than your wheel size. E.g. 10.1 tire on a 10.5" wheel is perfect fitment. |

excluding drag or roll racing(going straight), only a small percentage here do or know how to drive at the limits of their cars performance(track or the twisties) suggesting appropriate wheel and tire specs is already difficult without this variable. it'll be a hard sell for most but this info is helpful regardless. |

While running a square set up is fine if you want a little extra protection from curb, the ideal fitment is ~0.5in narrow than the wheel width. The article quite literally states above that line you're referring to: "Here is a 285/35-20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport which has a 10.1″ tread width (also available in a 10.5″ tread width) mounted on a 20×10.5 wheel. This is a perfect tire-to-wheel sizing with a mild stretch, preloading the side wall just enough to improve steering response and performance." Why not run down to the Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, or BMW shop tomorrow and look at their performance cars? Every single one of them will have slightly stretch tires over their wheels. |
