Go check out the fitment on the miatas at your local autox. Everyone tries to fit the widest tire (more grip) on the narrowest wheel (weight). That'll give you an idea of what actually works.

Oh, I will fit the widest tire possible. I was just pointing out how the post ignored the point. I'm running the stock M3/4 rims and tires and will be increasing rear width once this set is done.

I'm currently on the market for my summer set on my new '16 340i xDrive, and this looks absolutely gorgeous. Any idea if that tire spec would clear on mine?

Planning on lowering in the future, but yours seems quite low already!

Was looking mainly at 19", but damn... plus potholes out here wouldn't be nearly as heart-wrenching haha

225/40/18 has 26" diameter, which is stock diameter of your car (same as 225/45/18, 225/40/19, 255/35/19). All you need is proper spec of the wheels (width, offset).

However, without lowering it will not look nearly as good as this car, as the fender gaps remain the same (and they are anyway 10 mm bigger on M Sport xdrive).

I've been running 245/45r18's for over 6 years now without any issues on xDrive. Currently on some Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 studded winter tire. As for the speedo, it's more accurate, if my HUD is showing 35mph, all the speed signs will show about 1mph lower.

Hmm I bought a cheap set of 245/45 snows on 18x8 et 30's , they rubbed at full lock in reverse on my stock f32 msport, must've been the 4mm difference in offset from the OEM 400ms?

Looking at an offset calculator, I have 11mm less clearance to the strut, while only extending 1mm further out with 18x8.5 et 35's. Due to the narrower wheel and lower offset, I would believe you are poking out about 5-6mm more than I am.

I also cannot remember, but I believe F32's have slightly worse clearance than F30's in the front.

I'm xDrive and replaced the stock springs/struts with Eibach 05-22 springs and Koni Yellow struts. No rubbing, however it's very tight in the front at full lock position.
